Life with the Fam

I know I have not written a what's-up-with-me-what-I've-been-doing kind of post in a long time so, I thought I'd go ahead and do that. I'm using the big text (large instead of normal) because I like it. I have a large handwriting so, this is what I'm used to.

I've been staying at my parent's house ever since they came home from France. It's been about a month. It's a two-story house with 5 bedrooms and 3 (?) baths. Upstairs is my brother's room (he lives here), a living room with his couch, big, huge TV and stereo, Nintendo Wii (he just got Guitar Hero- so fun!), his bathroom, the "guest bedroom" (where I'm staying), "guest bathroom", mom's sewing room, another bathroom and I think that's all. I literally get confused!

I've never had my own bathroom before. I shared one with Justin and then with Luke so this is just awesome! Plus, they always have great food. My parents are the best cooks. My mom just got The Biggest Loser cookbook and she made this eggplant lasagna stuff. OH GOOD LAWD it's awesome. It's just eggplant and cheese and tomato sauce, but you could add meat (ground beef, turkey, what have you) and make a meal. Deee-lish! I love eggplant.

After supper is eaten and the kitchen is cleaned, mom, the two doggies and I sit down to watch the shows of the night. Over here things vary a little for me. I have my DVR set at home for the shows that mom doesn't watch and that I cannot watch online (Gossip Girl, Law and Order,etc). There are some shows that we both were already watching (Grey's, Cane, Dancing with the Stars), but she watches some that I wasn't. Now, I'm hooked on them! These include: The Biggest Loser, The Bachelor, Survivor: China and The Amazing Race.

I watch TAR, but it just premiered Sunday the 4th. I watched a few seasons of The Bachelor , but the premise is really sick and the couples never stay together! Now, I'm all rooting for Jenni and thinking Brad has sexy hands. I still think the whole thing is sick, though. I'd never do it. I want my man to have known that I was the girl for him before he "tried it out" with 24 other girls. I don't want to (and am not going to) put on a dog and pony show for anyone to "love" me. No ma'am, not this girlie!

I know I have the separate TV blog. I'ma post over there, too cause I have sooooo much to say! Like where is Dirty Sexy Money? Mama doesn't watch that and I've watched all the ones online but, it seems that we're missing a few weeks. AND I'm loving Samantha Who? (I am a big, damn deal). Yes, ya'll, I know. I'm a pathetic girl who loves TV. And her mama.

I also wanted to let you know (those of you who don't know) that Luke is working. We are not separated or divorcing! Everything is great on the home front. I realize that reading about me being at my parents' house and not mentioning the hubs could make it seem like that. Thanks for asking, though. :) I still love him like crazy and he, of course (!), loves me, too. We are going to begin making baby plans soon, actually. Well, plans are being made, daddy just needs to come home and some other things need to be worked out. Hopefully 2008 will be the year of Shoeaddict's 1st successful pregnancy. *fingers crossed* *prayers*

I'm often afraid that things get lost in the shuffle.

LIVE From My Bedroom... *SPOILERS* EDITED- 9/28 (2:03pm)

Hey, I'm LIVE watching Ugly Betty and DVR'ing Earl. I just saw the "Last season on Ugly Betty..." and I remember it all. For all of you who like this sorta info, Santos was gonna die, the guy who plays him was in another show that got canceled (Drive). OH. I. LOVE. IT. "You've taken a lover! And that lover has a creamy center." I'll be back! SPARKLE and DAZZLE!!
**I'm back! OK, OMG- Alexis doesn't know that she is ALEX! Whoa, that's gonna be WHOA. I do not like that Santos is really dead. That broke my heart. Does anybody want Betty and Daniel to get together?

Grey's Anatomy- How funny that they all did Bailey's speech! Christina's hair looks so cute and Izzy is so pretty. McSteamy is HOT!! I love that Bailey said, "you and Grey aren't sniffing each other in the elevator..." to Derek. That was funny stuff. PLEASE someone tell me why in the world are they broken up? George being mean to Callie really pisses me off. Joey, the accident victim who is eating everything in sight, that is CAH-RAAAAZY. And Lexie the sister, hello, bad timing much! Ya think she could've waited an hour to introduce herself? Overall, I'm totally digging this Grey's and I know that I'm not gonna jump ship. I just want to understand why Meredith and Derek are broken up. Oh, well, 30 more minutes left, maybe I'll learn something.
- If George and Lexie hook up, that will really make me mad. He'll be just outta control. So, the Joey guy had a disease that caused him to eat everything in sight. Well, I think I have that! J/K... The Mark/Derek dynamic is a great one. I really liked Izzy's "You can bitch and moan about it or you can adjust your expectations... " speech. That's a great way to look at things, right?
As far as CHANGE goes, I'm not good at it at all. I've never been. I just have to adjust.

Big Shots- What's the deal with trannies on the premieres this week? I'm DVR'ing this so, I'm going to read a little and go to sleep. I'm so tired.

Beauty and the Geek- Is anyone besides Lori and me watching? My heart broke for Tony. I think Sam is gross. Nicole is a cutie. I thought that the right people won each competition, though. Even though Sam is a skeeve, he did well at the debate because he debated- he had a rebuttal.

Kid Nation- This show is fantastic and I cannot stand all the whiny people who think it's abusive or whatever. I have not read Lord of the Flies but, I am very interested in doing so. HOLLY, do you have a copy I can borrow? Maybe the next time you come home? Let me know! Anyway, these kids are learning skills (cooking, social skills, money management, responsibility,etc...) that are very important in life. They are able to go home if they want. They are not out there alone- get real. They are just NOT being "coddled" like kids are so used to today. I'm only 26 but, when I was a kid, things were different. Now, "every body's a winner", kids get overly praised for everything, and are never allowed to get dirty or hurt. I have TONS more to say about this subject but, this is not the time. Bottom line- like the show a lot. The kids are so cute- Mike, Laurel, DK, the funny one on the red team, Sophia...

Dirty Sexy Money- I heart this show too! I cannot believe that I'm falling in love with all these new shows. Peter Krause (Six Feet Under) plays Nick George and he's so good. The Darling family is a guilty pleasure I can sink my teeth into for sure. There is also a murder mystery and can Nick really trust the Darlings???

Big Shots- Dylan McDermott being a bad boy- yummy! I loved this show, too and I didn't want to at all. Only because my butt is never gonna leave the TV. I've always loved TV but, this is just ridiculous!! Michael Vartan, Christipher Titus & Dylan McDermott all make up a pretty, funny, naughty cast. It's very Sex and the City with men. It's staying on my list.

8:00 Grey's Anatomy- I'm very mad that Derek and Meredith are off-again but, I'm very excited to see if all the complaining has gotten the writers to kick it into high gear! This show really was a FANTASTIC show in it's earlier seasons and I know it can be excellent again.
9:00 Big Shots- I'm gonna try it! Dylan McDermott & Michael Vartan- yeah!

7:00 Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?- This is a good show and I love me some Jeff Foxworthy but, it's no competition for all the other shows.
8:00 Don't Forget the Lyrics- No way! This show is not as good as Singing Bee. Wayne Brady is CREEEEEEPY.

7:00 Survivor: China- I just have no room for it!
8:00 CSI: Crime Scene Investigation- I usually watch these in reruns on A&E (I love that channel). I LOVE the song they've been playing on the commercials for the new episodes- know what I'm talking about?
9:00 Without a Trace- I LOVE this show! I cannot wait for the new season.

It's finally coming...Fall TV and let me tell you, honey, I. Am. THRILLED!! So, many new shows I'm just dying to see and hoping are as good as they are promising to be... Um-Um, always a good time! Let me start off by saying that this summer of shows has been EXCELLENT! I know I've been saying it but, it's just so great to not have to watch crappy reruns (that they don't even have the decency to air in ORDER) or whatever. Saving Grace, Army Wives, The Closer, Damages, Mad Men, what am I forgetting??? And, yes on Saturday, AMC was so wonderful to show all the episodes of Mad Men and I only missed the first two because I thought it was airing later. I love the show! Kate, Naomi, I'll be asking y'all some ??s later.



So, since I get the sweetest comments from y'all EVAH about how you love to read the Diary because you don't have to read a fashion magazine and you get your celeb news right here (FYI- Owen Wilson is at home and is surrounded by his family and friends), I thought I'd tell you what I'm gonna be watching and when they all start.



BUT FIRST- I'm going to make a separate list for my mama. She's been driving me crazy asking me to let her know when "her shows" start. Her shows are:

Dirty Sexy Money- Premieres Wednesday 9/26 @ 9:00 ABC (This is a show about Nick George, played by Peter Krause (Six Feet Under), a lawyer with an idealistic views, who finds himself representing a trouble-making, rich family. He's taking the place of his father who has died in a plane crash. The family is in NYC and is named "Darling")

Private Practice- Premieres Wednesday 9/26 @ 8:00 ABC (I love Kate Walsh. I love the character of Dr. Addison so, I'm going to give this show a chance. I also really love Amy Brenneman, Taye Diggs & Tim Daly. I liked the show.)

Cane- Premieres Tuesday, 9/25 9:00 CBS (Oh boy! I am soooooo freakin excited about this show! I love Jimmy Smits. The previews I've seen remind me of my HUGE crush on Mafia crime boss, Sonny Corinthos- played by Maurice Bernard- YUMMMM. This show is centered around the wealthy Duque family. They are in the rum-making business and the patriarch is ill and is dividing the family assets among his three biological children, Frank, Isabel, and Henry. Alex was "adopted into the dynasty at a young age but, is married to Isabel and is given control of the company and Frank is not happy. Sounds really good. Hot)

Samantha Who?- Premieres 10/15, Monday 8:30 ABC (Christina Applegate stars in this comedy as a girl who wakes up from a coma to find out she was a total witch)

Big Shots- Premiers 9/27, Thursday 9:00 ABC (Word is this is Sex and the City without the Manolos. It stars Dylan McDermott, Christopher Titus, Michael Vartan & Joshua Malina)

Woman's Murder Club- Premieres 10/12, Friday 8:00 ABC (A homicide detective (Angie Harmon-love her!!) solves crimes with her buds; a reporter, a medical examiner, and a district attorney.)

Those are the NEW SHOWS I'm excited about and will be giving a try. I'll tell you what OLD SHOWS I'm going to be watching in a post tomorrow.

Grey Grey's

I'm using the grey color because of Grey's finale last night. I thought it was really not good. And according to most of what I'm reading, I'm not alone. There were some good scenes from good actors (Sandra Oh, Sara Ramirez) but, this show is really, really gonna have to get it together to keep me coming back.

Ok, Meredith. She makes me want to slap her. A lot. I get that she has issues and all that but, it's enough. If she's the character that we as the audience are supposed to most widely identify with, they are making that incredibly difficult. And I'm not just speaking for myself- I've done research. Derek's speech in the locker room was perfect and very real. Meredith doesn't appreciate him. If she is looking for better, what does she want? But, I wasn't surprised by her behavior. She's been acting crazy and annoying for a while.

I'm angry that NO ONE was happy in the end. What a depressing finale! I never thought Cristina and Burke would get married and quite frankly, I'm glad because of the flippant way ths show treats marriage. But Meredith had to go and act like a big 'ole drama queen and hurt Derek to ensure that both of them were unhappy, too. Then, Alex? Okay, Ava/Rebecca/whats her face, that was never gonna happen. Yes, there was some kinda weird chemistry between the two of them but just an episode or so ago she's telling him to go make it work with Addison. I was surprised she was like that about leaving. Did she think she was going to change Alex? Maybe they go together because what she did to her husband (so glad to see Jeremy London!) was crap. Not the leaving, the pretending not to know who she was. And she wasn't with her baby, ever! And George failed the intern exam! If he doesn't come back- that will seal it for me. I LOVE T.R. Knight. I don't know if I told you but, someone MAY not be coming back. If thats the case, let it be Burke.

I loved Callie's verbal "slap" to Izzie at the church. "I was named Chief Resident & we decided to have a baby." Dumb look on Izzie's face, "A baby..." she sputters. "Yes, we're trying," Callie tells her all smugly, "We tried today!" Oh I loved that. And I love Bailey and it sucks that she was upset. But, I've been saying that I'm sick of the show treating Callie like something to just kick around. I actually predicted, right after whoever went first, that Callie would get it. The shock value and all that.

Seems like the only people who ended up happy were Joe & whatever his partners' name is... they got the twins. Awwwww. Thank God someone was happy.

So, what did you think. I'm really dying to know.

The Ugly Betty finale was awesome! That show is really good.
I also switched back and forth to NBC shows. Surprisingly, I don't have TiVo or DVR so, I'm going to be getting that very soon.

La, La, La...

I have been out of sorts lately. I don't know what the deal is. I'm still trying to wean myself off of some medications and that has caused me to get headaches. I've also been so tired the past two days! Yuck! And Luke is working in Mississippi, so I'm just here in the house with Layla. I've been watching tv (tell me what you thought of Grey's last night) and reading. Oh, and hanging out on my new favorite site www.funnyordie.com OMG, please go there!! It's like YouTube but Will Ferrell started it so he's in some of the videos. Check out "The Landlord", "David Blaine Street Magic Part 2" and ummm, well "The Landlord" is the best! Will Ferrell is in it.

So, I have not much to say right now. I want to see what you have to say about Grey's and then I'll do my bit on it- a little somethin' new for ya! Whoo... And let me know what your favs are on YouTube and funnyordie.

Addison's Anatomy

Here's what I know:
According to everything I've read, most people were not happy with Private Practice, Kate Walsh (Addison)'s new spin-off. The #1 complaint (and mine, too) was that on Thursday night, the audience was promised an "all new 2 hour episode of Grey's Anatomy" and more than half of it was in L.A., not Seattle. This had Grey's fans in an uproar on forums, blogs, official web sites and the like. Some really don't want Addison to leave Seattle Grace Hospital (and McSteamy) and would rather her come back and bring Tim Daly (Pete) and Taye Diggs (Sam) with her.

I personally feel like the number one mistake that ABC and the Grey's/PP producer's made was mushing the two shows together. SOOOOOO unfair to both shows! Private Practice is said to be "older. slower. soapier." That's a direct quote from the network. I agree and don't think it's a bad thing considering the sex-fest/sometimes unbelievable story lines on Grey's. I love Grey's, I do, but, I've seen some reruns and it's amazing how incredible the show was in Season one (see LIFETIME TV) and what it's become. I think that by combining the two, Grey's fans didn't get a full hour (it's reported- REPORTED- that we got 20 something minutes of actual Grey's) of what could've been really good stuff. Christina at the bridal shop trying on dresses with the girls? Callie and Izzie's awkwardness during the bridesmaid dresses and with Christina at the bridal shop? Burke and Christina's moms? All funny stuff that "coulda been". And, Susan died... of the hiccups?? Umm, el lame-o! It really was terrible when Meredith's father SLAPPED her. But, it wasn't all built up long enough because of the choppy back and forth between the two shows.

Then of course, the spin off deserved it's own time slot, it's own chance! Spin offs are already compared to the shows that "birthed" them without this kind of pressure. I liked it, overall. I was a major "Judging Amy" fan (anyone?) so, I'm so glad to see Miss Amy Brennaman (Violet, the therapist) again. Although, I really hope she is not whiny and pathetic for the whole show. Also, love Taye Diggs but, really want to know the REAL story about why a man would leave his wife and kid for no reason. Pete and Addison had some chemistry but, not like Addison and McSteamy. And lots of people, including myself, had a problem with the (creepy) lines, "I'm gonna kiss you. I'm gonna kiss you with tongue." That would NOT turn me on, you? However, I like the idea of the "offices" instead of the hospital for Addison. I think she needs to get away from Derek. And Alex. It's crazy for her to stay near her ex-husband. It's stupid for her to get involved with Alex. So, for the "older, slower, soapier" crowd... I think it's gonna be a winner.

Private Practice is not Grey's Anatomy and wasn't ever supposed to be but, because of the presentation, it may not get a fair chance.

What did you think of Private Practice? Do you think Addison will do better in L.A. or should she go back to Seattle? And Grey's- what do you think about George and Izzie? Burke and Christina? Alex and Jane Doe/Ava? Meredith and Derek? And Tucker?

Heartbreaker

Oh goodness grady, did McDreamy look totally gorgeous at the end of Grey's or what? When he was laying on the couch, lights dimmed, with his hand on his head. Whoa... that's smokin'! As opposed to poor "Ava" who- I'm sorry- was not (smokin'). And how much do I love Dr. Bailey and all her attitude but, the fact that everyone runs to her for "mommy-ing"! She reminds me of MY mom- right guys? The one keeping everyone in line, the one everyone needs, the one everyone goes to for advice... that's Sheila!

So, I really feel like Callie O'Malley (my daddy & I love to say that) just came on the show to get "beat-up"!!! As a big girl, it's awesome to see someone like Sara Ramirez on a hit show like Grey's. She is pretty & talented. But Callie has been treated like a redheaded stepchild by "the group" (the girls mostly- Mere, Izzie & Christina) since the get go. Even if you don't like her or don't like her with George, you gotta admit it's crappy to have them not even try to get to know her even after she became Mrs O. Plus, whether you are creeped out or are hyped about George and Izzie- he is MARRIED!!

So, tear city when Izzie's daughter stuff came up. And when George demanded to know where she was and ran to her... he really loves her. It will be a hard thing for him to fight. So, how do you feel about George and Izzie?

I am waaaay over Meredith and her royal bitch attitude. "Everybody just loves me to death and I want them to just let me breathe. God, I need people to stop falling all over me!" That's how she comes off to me. What do you think? I was so glad her story was limited tonight.

What about Christina and Burke? Her, acting "sweet and nice" like she said, in front of Dr. Marlowe. Is she trying to prove something to him? Or herself? Will her and Burke make it down the aisle? What about what she told Dr Marlowe in the o.r.? I was shocked by that but, if that's true, they have a shot.

Ugly & Grey

Hi everyone! I'm so glad it's "new" Grey's Anatomy & Ugly Betty night. It's just a bunch of bulls@*!t that we get all these reruns from shows we love!!! Shows with excellent ratings, legions of fans, armfulls of awards and actors who are paid nauseating amounts of money PER epiosode. Wouldn't you want more episodes if you were paid 6 figures, PER EPISODE??

I know that Katherine Heigl (Izzie) has a movie coming out this summer on June 1st. It's called, "Knocked Up" and it's about an entertainment reporter (Heigl) who ends up pregnant after a one-night stand. I just love her and I can't wait to see this movie.

I'm sorry to say that because I've been having migraines constantly, my "what's hot for summer" series will not begin by tomorrow. I've decided to make it a series because it will be easier to read. I'm including fashion, makeup, movies, etc... I want it to be good so, I want to be at my best.
