Checkin' In
I have been doing a lot of nothing. Scroll down to read about it.
In addition to watching movies and Entourage, I've been chatting with Kelli and Kate online. I have never done it before and am more of a phone person but, Kate is not so, that's fine with me!
I'm getting sick, I fear. I feel pregnant (I'm 100% NOT) because I'm soooo ridiculously tired and my appetite is wacky. I am sneezy, coughing, itchy eyes, scratchy throat, achy ears, etc... I had this begin a few times in the past couple of months but, I managed to ward it off.
Tomorrow, Luke and I are supposed to go to New Orleans all day for the Sugar Bowl. I want to be well enough to go and have a good time. The plan is for us to leave at 9-10 AM and go check into our hotel, go to the Quarter and have lunch at some place Luke wants to go that I've never heard of. Then, we head to the 'Dome for the tailgating. The game starts at 8:30 (I think).
Tonight, people are going to mom's house. I don't think it's going to be any big deal... As of right now, I am in no mood for any big deal. Or even leaving the house. Or my pajamas.
*I'll be back- gotta eat.*
I'm watching a Jon & Kate Plus 8 marathon AND a Law & Order:CI marathon. I plan on getting to the movies later. I'm also toying with the idea of a big new TV post on the other blog all about the new shows coming on, when, what, etc... I'm not gonna do it though if there is no interest. The ones I have done in the past have gotten one or two comments at the most. I guess I shouldn't judge interest by comments but, I do.
Let me know if you're interested.

Movie Marathon (I'm Very Cool)
I've been watching soooo much TV (nothing new, right) lately. But, there is a difference. I have been watching Entourage on DVD from Netflix (if you want to discuss-PLEASE-go to the other blog)(don't spoil anything for me, though!). I've also been watching on my laptop because we only have one DVD player, it's in the living room and Luke's been watching football. I got a bunch of DVDs when I joined some kinda club or something... before Kelli helped me see the light with Netflix, so I'm gonna be watching those too. I watched one that I had high hopes for the other night and *le sigh*, 'eh. It was this one:"Friends With Money" is about three rich couples and their lone single, poor friend played by Jennifer Aniston. It was not unwatchable or anything, although I do have some big gripes. Dying to know if any of you have seen it and agree with what I have to say. What do I have to say? Well, Jennifer Aniston's character, Olivia, is never really explained adequately. Meaning, how did she become friends with this group of people? It seems that she was friends with Franny (played by a horrible looking Joan Cusack who I usually love) first and then introduced to Jane (Frances McDormand- great in her role) and Christine (Catherine Keener- pretty good). Plus, Jennifer Aniston plays Olivia so similar to the way she portrays Justine in "The Good Girl". I really liked that movie and I liked Aniston in it. I don't know, I just thought this movie could've been better. I'll be watching "Hairspray" today. The original John Waters one with Ricki Lake was a favorite of mine when I was younger. I have seen it LOTS of times. I'm very anxious to see what is different about this one. This movie was recommended to me by my dear friend, Naomi. She said she thinks I'll love it because of the costumes, makeup, etc. I'm looking forward to it. This movie is about the life and death of George Reeves, TV's superman (Ben Affleck). It was nominated for awards and stuff. I'll let you know how I like these. Labels: blog friends, Movies, new blog

I love this! Rev Run and his wife, Justine, adopted a baby girl in September. The baby girl, who they named Miley Justine Simmons, will appear on the show

A Christmas Story- So Far
It's 1:15 on Christmas Day and let me tell you what I've done today- SLEPT. I was so tired. Luke woke me up (early) to give me my present from him. It's a right-hand ring, a 14K gold diamond filigree ring. It kinda looks like leaves and vines, I'll get a picture ASAP. After that, I went back to sleep. I woke up again to feed Layla, pee and went back to sleep. I have a small headache and I'm hungry now. Today, we are going to mom's to just lay around and do nothing. Justin and Shannon are with her mom, some family will stop by throughout the day, Isabelle, Olivier and the baby are there... should be no fuss. Tonight, we'll play LCR with Mrs J and her family (Holly!). I got a ton of presents, including a digital camera. Now, I can be a real blogger and take pictures of everything I do and see. I also got a red coat, black boots, perfume, pajamas, slippers, 2 pairs of pants, an outfit with matching shoes, a food processor, an LSU sweatshirt, earrings, bathstuff, lip gloss... I'm so so blessed. Ok, Luke's ready to leave. (Updated) I'm so tired, my head hurts, my house is a mess, my kitchen is pretty empty... It's the big Christmas hangover. Rundown-Monday- we went to my grandparent's house and had a great time! I wore a red and black swirly pattern tunic, black pants and wedge shoes. I didn't have my camera yet but, pictures were taken. The kids were fun! The food was soooo good. We had: fried turkey, honey-baked ham, green bean casserole, corn pone, rice dressing, cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, fruit salad, chocolate covered pretzels, my oreo truffles... So good! Yesterday, we did go to mom's house. Isabelle, Olivier and bebe Zoe were still there. Zoe is so cute and I have some great pictures of her. She sleeps all spread out, arms splayed out, it's adorable. She is so good. I got to hold her for a while and Luke held her hands and played with her and it was so so so sweet. I LOVE seeing him with kids. I've never seen him with a newborn though and this was sweeter than sweet. Anyway, we ate a lunch of stuffed chicken breast, roast, potatoes, rolls and fruit salad. It was nontraditional but very good. We talked about some traditional French foods and what they eat for Christmas (foi gras- goose liver). We went to Keith and Susan's house to see what Santa brought the kiddies. They were all so sweet and snuggly. I forgot my camera, though! Daniel was playing Nintendo DS and was so so serious! We came back to the 'rents' house and had Mrs J and her whole family. Justin and Shannon came back and their were 16 of us, including Zoe. 13 of us played LCR, the dice game and Shannon won the two times that I was sitting there. Mom made a huge pot of soup- turkey, andouille, ourzo, veggies. By 9:30-10:00, I was soooo tired and so was Lukey who went back to work today. I will play with my camera today and see if I can learn how to adjust it. I'll try to upload the pictures I've taken already. Labels: Christmas, holidays, life

A Celebrity Christmas Wedding
In Park City, Utah yesterday (Sunday) Katherine Heigl wed musician Josh Kelly in a small, 30-minute ceremony. T.R Knight (who was also a groomsman), Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers and Kate Walsh were all at the Stein Eriksen Lodge to watch as the Unitarian minister officiated. Katherine wore Oscar de la Renta and walked down the aisle to a song written by her fiancee (now husband). They exchanged vows they wrote themselves- awwwwww! A reception followed. My friend IRL and Diary reader, Sarah was married on December 15th! She just returned from her honeymoon and I am just so so so happy for her!! I have not gotten to speak with her yet so, no word on weather T.R Knight was there. ;) She was gorgeous, I'm sure and we'll see if she'd like to "guest post" and tell us all about the wedding. Congratulations Sarah and Jeremy!!! Love to you xoxox

We're Having Twins!
No, not Luke and me (but, did that catch your attention?)- my cousin! I'm very excited about this. Yesterday, we went to Nanny's and got to see the kids and the pregnant mommies. My cousin, Jennifer, is pregnant (due April 2) for her third boy. Her oldest two, Hunter & Mason are so cute! My cousin Robby's wife, Cathleen is 7 weeks pregnant with TWINS! They have a 3-yr-old, Arlee. She is already huge! Not as big as Jen but bigger than a normal 7 week-er. She's not sick, just tired and hungry. I think the babies are both girls. I had a dream the night before I heard they were having twins. I dreamed of Robby with two little girls- babies- and I thought it was Arlee and the new baby but, when I heard Cathleen was carrying twins, I knew! It was twin girls. That's what Cathleen wants. Lindsey's oldest sister, Heather, has twin girls. I've been bff with Lin for 13+ years so, I was there throughout that whole ordeal. She got bigger everyday it seemed. It was fun and crazy and the twins are sweethearts. They are fraternal and were born big, healthy, beautiful. I waited in the waiting room at the hospital all day that July. Now, the girls love High School Musical and perfume from Libby Lou. Being around the kids and the pregnant bellies left me thinking. It reinforced the fact that I will be a good mother. I'm natural with children. I love being with them, they love me. The same is true about my Blue. As big and opposing as he may seem, kids love him! For me, kids bring joy, joy, joy to an event. I love the funny things they say (Arlee, who is very spoiled, says she will not feed her new babies, her favorite place to eat is Picadilly, and she loves to shop) and how very smart they really are. Jennifer didn't have Hunter until she was 27. She's having this boy at 33. Robby is 10 years older than me and didn't have Arlee until he was 33. Cathleen will have the twins at 36. I'll be 27 on January 17. Is it ok that I have not been in such a rush? Yes. There are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many people who'd have me pregnant many times over by now but, I feel this is what's right for me. For us. I love to talk about children, to dream about it and the time is getting closer... I'm ok with having put it off. We were married young but, also, together young. I would love to be pregnant for Christmas of '08.

Christmas Weekend Plans
Christmas weekend is what I'm calling it because just looking forward to Christmas is ridiculous! Christmas is just one day for goodness sakes and we have plans of Christmas joy on a few days other than just Christmas Day. I'm sure everyone else does, too. This way, all the build-up is not for the one day but, the weekend. Especially if you have family or friends coming in town or you are going out.We are not going to Georgia. We have only spent one married Christmas in Georgia. I have a hard time with it and it's not important enough to Blue that we go so, we don't. I'm sure that when we have a baby things (may) will change but, until then... His parents are planning to come here in February. He just saw them on his way back from Florida, too. They sent us our presents and we got them last night. I got some Sterling Silver jewelry and a fleece from Old Navy. Luke got a deep fryer and a UGA cooler. So, the plans. Tonight we are going to mom and dad's for supper. They have not been home for awhile so, it's just a get together. It'll just be "us"- I think. (Us= mom, dad, Luke, Justin, Gus, and me). Bowl games are on, DVRs are full, maybe presents to open (?) Lots to talk about. Attire- jeans, cahzSaturday- Luke is going to a party, Lin is coming to help me wrap presents. Sunday- Christmas with the "H" side of the family. This is my daddy's side. We will go to my Nanny's house (she is my dad's sister). LOTS of people. Nanny has 3 children: Robby (married to Cathleen; daughter Arlee, 3, newly pregnant), Jennifer (married to Clint; sons Hunter 6, Mason 3, pregnant with baby boy #3), & Cody (engaged to Carrie). Everyone will be there except Cody & Carrie. We only give gifts to the children. Or try to, at least. My Nanny is resistant. Attire- I will wear maybe dark denim and a tunic/flowy blouse, red patent flats or black suede wedges. It depends on the weather. It's hot today! Luke will wear khaki pants and a polo style pullover.Monday- Christmas Eve evening has been with the "M" side of the family since before I was born. It's always at my
grandparents' house. In attendance- "Us", mamaw, papa, Keith, Susan, Maria, Madison, McKenzie and Daniel. We only buy gifts for the children (fun!) Our family adopts other families to buy presents, clothes, food, etc for and it's so much fun! We eat turkey, brisket (sometimes), ham, sweet potato crunch, rice dressing, cornbread dressing, and who knows what else? Attire- Dressier- I'll wear grey trousers (cuffed) and a pretty red top. Luke will wear slacks and a button-down shirt.Tuesday- Christmas Day at mom and dad's. This is new. We usually do Christmas Day with the "H" family, one year at mom and dad's, the next year at Nanny's. This year, we are doing that early so, Christmas Day at the manse! No clue what we'll do- watch football, eat, open our presents to each other... That night, we'll play LCR with our family friends. Attire- jeans or jean skirt? I'm so excited. I have no idea if I'm going to make anything or not. Lindsey makes Oreo balls and since Luke and I love Oreos maybe I'll make those. I'm sure I'll still be posting because I like it and things don't seem like they'll be too crazy. What are your plans for Christmas weekend? Merry Christmas from Shoeaddict!

Babies and My Muffin... Love it, love it! My Muffin asked to call me a bunch of times lately. He wants to call "Kwissen." So cute!!
Funny Muffin-ism: Lin got a CC with an angel on it. She is holding a wand and flying over baby Jesus' manger. Muffin said, "Wook, it's majick!" Then, "It's where Chicken Little lives!" How freaking funny is that?
