Wishes

Ok, so I guess those pictures were not very representative of me or the types of hair that I have or could have. You are right, Kelli and Kate (who didn't comment here, but elsewhere), I do have much curlier hair than this. I do want to get a flat iron very soon and start wearing my hair straight more but not every day.

I wish that I could eat a big huge brownie with walnuts. I mean, I could eat it, but that would be so very baaaaaaaaaad of me. I'm already having trouble with this one pound!

I wish that my house were magically clean. It's not really dirty but it needs to be cleaned and I have not done it this week because I have not felt good.

I wish that I had money to buy some new shoes. Specifically these and these. And since this is all about wishes THESE. Are you kidding me? LOVE!!!

I also wish that I could find the cord to upload my pictures so you can see my new hair when I get it.

What do YOU wish?

I Enjoy Being A Girl

My second cousin, Cami, is getting married tomorrow night. I got my dress (a plum colored jersey) and today I needed shoes and a bag. I drove into town to a new store and SCORE! On the way back home, I was stopped in traffic for an hour. Completely stopped, as in I put my car in Park and talked on the phone (thanks Kel!) and read a magazine.
There was a very bad wreck. While I was parked on the interstate, no less than 10 police cars (and about 5 ambulance) passed. It was freaky and sad. I was in a panic. I took these pictures to show how far ahead the cars were but they don't really show.
See that red car to the left? There was a girl driving it who got out and got her backpack out of the trunk. I guess she decided to get a little homework/studying done while we sat there.

My new black patent leather shoes that I will wear with the dress. Oh, no picture of the dress. I'll get that in a second. I liked these but the ones I got were (1) dressier (2) closed toe. I don't know why I wanted a close toe but I did. Please do not snicker and point at my couch or the shoe and cup in the background.
I looooooove this purse! It's black patent leather and it's dressy and small. Right now, I don't really own a dressy purse. It's not that dressy but it works really well for me. It was a good price and I can wear it with lots of things.

SHOES and PURSES two of my very favorite things...

It Was A Much Better Day!

I got two cute shirts from Target. I'm kinda over my Old Navy tee obsession because as much as I love the feel of them, the arm pits grow and stretch. I bought one from Target right after I came back from St Thomas and I loved it. It's a really pretty green color that goes nicely with my hair and coloring. The two I just got this week are purple- the color for Fall and the color for LSU.

I'm wearing one of the shirts right now and it's so cute. It's a deep aubergine color with a cute little tie in the front. Oh, lemme see if I can find a picture. HERE is one. Cute huh? I'm wearing it with my dark jeans, big pewter bangle, and I'm going through my shoe options in my head. We are going to New Orleans for this the gift & jewelry show. It's awesome!

I got my engagement ring at the jewelry show. That is a picture of both my engagement and wedding rings. I got my wedding ring a few years after I got married, though. A lot of people told me that my engagement ring was enough or too much all on it's own. I decided that I wanted a wedding band and then when I saw that one, I had to have it. This weekend I'll be looking for housewares, decorations and the like. Maybe a purse.

What are your plans?

By the way, I went with my flat, J.Crew sandals. They are the last ones in that post.

Another Meme (with beautiful shoe links)

I saw this on a few peoples' blogs and thought I'd d do it.

1. What were you doing ten years ago?
It was 1998, the summer before my Senior year. I was dating satan and he was breaking up with me and then coming back. This would last almost a year. I had a car that I loved- my Honda Civic. It was a 93, two doors and red. Sarah and I were good friends. Her boyfriend and mine were friends (they were both assholes). Sarah's bf was cute.

2. What are five things on your to-do list today?
I'll tell you what's on the list for tomorrow because it's 7pm & I have had a migraine all day.
-grocery shopping
-towels
-mail off some packages
-pick-up medicine
-work-out with Gussie

3. Snacks you enjoy?
Right now, I love:
-big, fat, pitted cherries
-carrot sticks
-hummus
-Pink Lady apples
-cheese
-grapes

4. Places you’ve lived:-
My 1st hometown, LA
the town we live in now (about 5 minutes from 1st "town"), LA
Luke's hometown, GA
15 minutes from Luke's hometown, GA

5. What are 5 things you would do if you were a billionaire?-
- invest
-give to charities like St Jude and for abused, neglicted and/or unwanted children
-buy a fabulous house
-buy some of my dream shoes like these, these, these, these, these, and these to start. then, this and this and my dream bag that I love so much this.
-get Luke season tickets to the UGA football games
-I know this is six, but I would be sure my parents had whatever they needed and wanted. I'd never want them to have to work again.

Indiana Jones and the Gladiator Sandals

Luke and I watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on the Sci-Fi channel tonight. It was fun. He is very, very cute- Luke, I mean. Indiana Jones is too, of course. We were talking about how Harrison Ford is sadly too old to make a new Indy adventure though. Sometimes people should know when it's time to leave well enough alone.

We also discussed the recent events in California. I know that some of my readers home school their children and some plan to or are thinking about it. I'd love to hear from you and know what's on your minds. I could not be a teacher. I could barely tutor this very sweet, harmless little girl in a subject I knew backwards and forwards. I live in an area that has great public schools and private schools, too. I highly doubt that I will home school. I just want to hear from those of you who do or will. What made you choose that? What do you think of the ruling in California? Even if you are not homeschooling or not even a parent (I'm not even a parent!) (YET), I'd like to know what you think. Please remember to be kind and respectful. Everybody had the right to an opinion here.

I am of the firm belief that I should be able to do what I want to do with my children. If I think that homeschooling is the best for them, so be it. This way of thinking can get tricky though. I do not believe in "big" government coming in and telling me how to raise my kids, spend my money, worship my God, work my job, doctor my wounds, treat my cough, etc, etc... I do think that parents should have to follow rules regarding their children's education, home schooled or not, but it seems from all I've read, there are rules.

Moving right along.... everyone seemed to be in agreement about the shoes. The Athenaa's were my favorite's, too. They aren't the only pair I'm bringing, but I obviously want to keep the packing to a minimum. That is going to give me panic attacks for the week. Oh, Lawd! Give me a minute. *Deeeeep Breath* I'll have to get Lin to help me because i am awful at this kinda thing and she loves it. And I have to pack Luke! We've never been on a plane together- very, very nervous and very, very excited.

Back to the shoes, where were we... oh, yes, the Athenaa's. I went to the SteveMadden site to buy them and they are only available in a size 10! I am not a size 10. Le sigh. If you are, go NOW and buy them. We will all wait. We will. Go! Did you buy them? Aren't they fab?
Well, I spent forever trying to find a replacement. I went on tons of sites and found tons of shoes. I went back and forth for hours. I am really not exaggerating. I kept changing my mind on what I really wanted and finally I found these:
They are Sam Edelman Gilda in Pewter. I LOVE. You can all tell me you really hate them and I won't even care. They came in black, aqua, orange and a white/black that was really pretty, too. I picked this color because I feel like I can wear it with everything.
I found this dress at Torrid but I didn't get it. I like it though. My hair was cut like that but has grown out some. I'm thinking should I cut it back or let it grow out? I don't know. I liked it like that but I always miss my long hair.
This top shirt is my most favorite shirt. I already have it. I've worn it once. My mom bought it for me and I wore it a few weeks ago to her birthday dinner. It is so cute and very comfortable. I'm definitely bringing it. It is an easy-to-pack type of shirt, too.
I also have this shirt. My mom has it, too. I've never worn mine. I don't know if I'm gonna bring it or not. I'm sure I'm going to pack too much. We are going to have a washer and dryer. I know I'm bringing my 3 bathing suits, 2 cover ups, some pajamas, and way too many panties. I always bring way too many panties. I know it's unnecessary because we have a washer and dryer but I do it anyway. I should be worried about consolidating my makeup into one bag. Right now, it's in about 3 different bags.

I'm gonna need a lot of lists!

Eeany, Meany, Miney, Moe

So, I'm going to St. Thomas in ONE WEEK from today. I'm trying to buy a pair of shoes that I can wear with everything. Which one of these pairs do you like the best?

They are both on sale for $39.95 at Steve Madden. I'm kinda leaning towards the first pair (Athenaa) because they are different, flat and Gladiator-ish.

Whatya think?

What's Hot!

I'm finally getting around to my "What's Hot" in shoes post! Yay!! Layla has been laying here helping me. I decided to break up the trends so it's not just a bunch of pictures. Today's trend is brights: pink, yellow, orange. These colors are big for the summer. They are everywhere- handbags, tops, sunglasses, bracelets. I'm just doing some shoes today. Wedges are big this season, too. I love, love, love wedges.
Remember to keep your brights to a minimum, though. You don't want to wear a bright top, shoe and handbag all together and blind people. Send your questions (feel free to ask anything) or pictures of great purchases to shoeaddict17@gmail.com. Happy Shopping!

Pretty, Pretty, Pretty

Wild West Wrap Dress (black)

Wrapture Wrap Dress (red) and (khaki)
Bogota Belted Tunic Top (black)

Bold Belted Tunic Top

I really love these clothes. What do you think? I think I'm definitely going to buy one of the dresses, but which one? I'm leaning towards the black one because It's more versatile. I can wear my black pumps or new red suede pumps. I can wear any kind of accessories or whatever. I love the dresses because they remind me of the dresses that Chuck wears on Pushing Daisies.

Shoes On the Cheap

PAYLESS
Of course, I have no idea what's at your Payless but, these are some things I found on there web site. I didn't pull all the trends or even everyone that I liked, just a few to give you an idea. I realize that a lot of the shoes in yesterday's post are waaaaaaaaaaaay expensive. I don't buy shoes that cost hundreds of dollars. That was just a look at the trends. Kelli, I found some cap-toes for you. You can also find them at Dillard's, for sure. Another brand I LOVE right now is Guess. The "Carrie"... OMG!
**Notice the purple & gold** GO Tigers!!

Fall Into Shoes!

Here it is people, the shoes for Fall!!!!! It's taken me more time than you want to know to get this post together but, I've LOVED it. No, I have not bought any shoes. Here's the deal: I'm going to put things into categories, according to the trend, let you know the brand, name and price of the shoe. Some shoes I wrote some more info about, some I did not. If you are interested in a shoe (or more) let me know which one(s) with as much detail as possible and I'll let you know where to find it at the best price.
Some shoes follow more than one trend. I put the ones that were obvious at the end but, it was driving me crazy! I'll also let you know what you can wear with these shoe trends. So, get your credit cards ready...

ANKLE BOOTS
Ankle boots are everywhere! They come in all types of colors and lengths, with buckles, tassels, zippers, and cuffs. They also come in leather, suede and what have you.WHAT TO WEAR WITH THEM- wear your skinny (or straight leg- I'm plus-sized and I have these) jeans, pants, wide-legged jeans or pants, tunics, leggings and opaque tights. DO NOT WEAR- bare legs and dresses.

Steve Madden "APLEGATE" (shown in cognac leather) available in 8 colors, $129.95

Siegerson Morrison "7527" $495.00

Betsey Johnson "Lucca" $295.00

Carlos by Carlos Santana "Avenger" (shown in Tan) $149.00 **I like these a lot**

Nine West "Taglia" $99.00

Jessica Simpson "Hamin" $89.00 (available in 2 colors)

J. Renee "Weston" lizard-print $79.00 **I like these, too**

CAP-TOE HEEL

The cap-toe heel is usually a fabric shoe with a patent leather toe. They come in slingbacks, pumps, and some FLATS. WHAT TO WITH THEM- these are usually a very ladylike shoe so wear with skirt suits, sweater seats, cardigans, thin turtlenecks, wool trousers and sheer hosiery when appropriate.

wool and patent leather slingbacks by Justsweet, $115

Betsey Johnson "Leopold" (also fits the "MENSWEAR" trend), $190.00

Guess "Kendrick" $99.00

TALL CUFFED BOOTS

Tall boots are still a big deal this fall but, two different styles in particular are being featured here. The first is the cuffed and the next will be the casual flat boots. WHAT TO WEAR WITH THEM- Wear skirts with these boots, from minis to ankle-length. Also, tights or leggings... DO NOT WEAR- jeans! The cuff adds bulk so jeans are not really recommended.

Steve Madden "FAVORITE" (available in 2 colors), $169.95

Alberto Fermani "1386", $595.00

Steve Madden "Smokin", $289.95 **favorite in this category**

CASUAL FLAT BOOTS

I'm guessing you can wear these as ankle boots, too. I've seen 'em! These are my favorite kind of tall boots. WHAT TO WEAR WITH THEM- Of course, these boots are more casual (usually) so wear your boyfriend-style or wide-legged jeans, chunky knit sweaters, tracksuits (when the boot is appropriate) and stuff like that.
Leather boot by Timberland, $200

BANDED FLATS

Flats are absolutely everywhere. You can find them in all types, too. They fit lots of trends and can be dressed up or down. I have a few pairs and love them. WHAT TO WEAR WITH THEM- Everything! Wear your capri's, your skirts, dresses, pants, jeans... DO NOT WEAR-wide legs!! Keep your jeans and pant legs straight because the wider the legs, the shorter flats will make you look.

Steve Madden "Footstep" (available in two colors), $89.95

Steve Madden "Twist up", $89.95 **Aren't these awesome?**

Hush Puppies "Ballerine", $69.00

SNAKE

Animal prints have been big for a while. They still are but, snake is the big new trend for Fall. You can still wear your leopard, zebra, giraffe, etc... Just not all together! Good grief. WHAT TO WEAR WITH THEM- solids. Only do one animal print at a time.

Steve Madden "Exudus", $59.95

"Unlisted" by Kenneth Cole Super Style, $50.00
Cynthia Vincent "Bliss", $305.00
Charles David "Peruse", $250.00 **OMG!! These are awesome**

Steve Madden "Luela" in blue (available in 3 colors), $79.95 **VERY cool**

PATENT
So, patent leather, yeah. Shiny. I have to admit that I've not always been a fan of patent leather on anyone who was over 4 or not a stripper but, it's growing on me and now they are a must have.

Steven by Steve Madden "Lemore" in fuchsia patent (other colors available), $99.95
Poetic Licence "Prissy", $90.00 in grey patent (This also follows the GREY trend)
Bernardo "Brad" in leopard dusty, $130.00
Nne West "Giove" in cobalt, $79.00

AK Anne Klien "Willa" in bronze, $79.00

MENSWEAR
Menswear is also big in both clothes and shoes. It's in the patterns- herringbone, plaid, oxford, etc... In clothing, it's in the tailoring and such. WHAT TO WEAR WITH THEM- skirts, knee-length dresses, stovepipe pants

Steven by Steve Madden "Gilee" plaid mary jane pump in grey (GREY trend), $59.99

MIXED

These mix a few of the above trends. And I'm done! Now, of course, I'm dying to know which ones you love, hate, gotta have, whatever. It's 5:32 pm. I started this at 8:30 am. Y'all better read this! Remember to ask your questions here. Where to buy the shoes or if you're confused about what to wear with what.

BCBGirls Elaine $110, this is fits with the GREY, THE CAP-TOE HEEL, & THE MENSWEAR (kinda)

Steve Madden DERELICT $109.95 (shown in grey patent) available in 3 colors, this is GREY, PATENT, & ANKLE BOOT.
