The Gift of The Bath

When we were looking for houses, one thing that I HAD to have was a nice bathroom. I wanted a big tub with the jets and a nice separate shower. I got that and I am not disappointed. Here are some of my very favorite things that have to do with a good bath. Maybe you can find a good gift for someone.

Full disclosure- I don't own one of these awesome Canyon Group robes but I want one badly. They are made of chenille and are so adorable. They are kinda expensive ($132) but they are so comfy and gorgeous! The robes have appeared on TV and in the movies. They come in sizes Small (6-8), Medium (10-12), Large (14) and X-Large (16). They also have Plus sized robes in some of the same designs. There are really cute ones, here are just a few:

This stuff is fabulous. It's really creamy (I use it to shave sometimes and I have the worst sensitive skin) and rich. The smell is so fabulous, too. I love it. It's mild and light and clean. I love it in the winter.

This is the most decadent stuff you can use in the bath. I love it to relax and soak- it's not good in the morning! It's the very best on a cold, winter day because of the great spicy smell. It does smell like Cinnamon Buns but the top notes are not sweet, they are more spicy and warm. I bet that you'll love it! I also have the lip balm and it's okay. It's a little Red Hots for me.

Another company I LOVE in the tub is L'Occitane. I love them all the time, actually. We just got a little L'Occitane store in the mall and I am thinking of going to work there. The one drawback- there is only one person at a time working! I will get bored. So, back to the products, they are so fabulous! I think you should own at least one thing from this place. Sephora also sells them. And Philosophy.

The Lavender Spa

Lavender is something I cannot live without. I discovered my true love for it while in the middle of suffering from terrible migraines. Lavender is a natural calmer and L'Occitane has simply the best. If you love lavender scent and you have never smelled this one, you MUST! Also great, the candle. The reason L'Occitane's lavender is the best- lavender grows in Aix en Provence in France and that is where L'Occitane originates. My mom has been there.

I love this stuff. I pour it in the running water and it smells so fabulous. It's an oil so it is very super moisturizing and doesn't dry you out. I don't even use lotion on the days that I use this in the bath.

Other stuff I love from there is this (I want this!) and this. I took my MIL to the little shop when they were here and she loved it. She told me she wanted something from there for Christmas but I don't remember! AGH!!!

I Enjoy Being A Girl

My second cousin, Cami, is getting married tomorrow night. I got my dress (a plum colored jersey) and today I needed shoes and a bag. I drove into town to a new store and SCORE! On the way back home, I was stopped in traffic for an hour. Completely stopped, as in I put my car in Park and talked on the phone (thanks Kel!) and read a magazine.

There was a very bad wreck. While I was parked on the interstate, no less than 10 police cars (and about 5 ambulance) passed. It was freaky and sad. I was in a panic. I took these pictures to show how far ahead the cars were but they don't really show.

See that red car to the left? There was a girl driving it who got out and got her backpack out of the trunk. I guess she decided to get a little homework/studying done while we sat there.

My new black patent leather shoes that I will wear with the dress. Oh, no picture of the dress. I'll get that in a second. I liked these but the ones I got were (1) dressier (2) closed toe. I don't know why I wanted a close toe but I did. Please do not snicker and point at my couch or the shoe and cup in the background.

I looooooove this purse! It's black patent leather and it's dressy and small. Right now, I don't really own a dressy purse. It's not that dressy but it works really well for me. It was a good price and I can wear it with lots of things.

Window Shopping

I've been looking around at some handbags and shoes and thought I'd show you some of my favorites at three different sites(Zappos.com, Piperlime.com & Stevemadden.com). Here are just a few picks from each.

I did Zappos last and wanted to just show some of my favorite Lucky Brand handbags. The trend for the Fall is jewel toned colors & especially deep blue (like the KOOBA)(Piperlime) and purple. Lucky Brand has really pretty tan/brown ones though. I like LB because they look kinda hippy-ish. Do you wear the same purse for every season? Are you shopping for a new one (like me)?

Tank Fest '08

I love the Old Navy tanks. There are a ton of styles to choose from. There are striped and other stripes and plain and dressy. Old Navy online has a Woman's Plus line, too.

I always love the Fourth of July tees and tanks for $5.oo. I like this one, but it's inappropriate for me. These are better:

I am living in these, jean peddle pushers and flip-flops. Well, not these exact tanks because I don't have them yet but the few that white, black and red one that I have from before. What are you living in? What do you find yourself reaching for over and over to put on this summer?

Sunny Stila Shadow

I've talked before about my deep love for Stila eye shadow. I've been using all the ones I've talked about in that post and just loving them. My mom has all the talking smokey eye quads. I should get commission from them. Well, anyway, I was reading (excitedly) about the new colors for the season and then later looking at the new makeup online when I found this gem.

Stila Summer Eye Shadow Palette is a Limited Edition at Sephora. It includes 6 fantastic colors and a mirror in a cute, sleek gold compact. I got it today and I LOVE it. I've been playing with it all day long. The colors are (from R to L):

Ray- A shimmering copper gold that you can use alone on lids for a great summer look.
Mystic- shimmering aqua blue "bold shade for summer soirees" from the description of the palette
Kitten- shimmering nude pink that I have in the Stila pot. I love it. It can be used as a highlighter or a base tone color. The best color and shadow.
Wheat- pearlescent beige "perfect base for a bronzed eye" (which I will be sporting tomorrow!)
Prize- soft gold shimmer (I've already put this color on and love it. I put it on over what I had and like it. I was wearing this too which doesn't really match.)
Sun- shimmering golden peach "sunny sparkle for day or night"

I'm super excited to wear this all out. I'll wear it soft and pretty during the day this week, but I can't wait to see what I can do with it for night!! How I can "tart" it up.

Birthday Present, Part 1

This is my birthday present from Luke. I am not a coffee drinker. I hate it. I hate the smell of it. But tea. I love, love, love tea. I love hot tea and iced tea. I have an electric teapot given to me for my wedding (Sarah, I PROMISE you are getting a wedding present. PROMISE) but, then I went to this site Harney and Sons on the advice of Geggie because of this post. I fell in love! I love Chai tea and wanted to check out the tea that Geggie was talking about so, I browsed. I decided (quickly) that I needed (Muffin speak for something you reeeeeeeally want: example "I need some M&Ms, mama!") a teapot and accessories for loose teas.

Here's what I got (it's my birthday present from Luke):

It gets tricky here because I don't know if this is what I need or not.

These are two of the teas I bought. Chai (Indian Spice) and Hot Cinnamon Spice. I got one other but, I forgot.

Yes, I LOVE my birthday.(If you hate that- beware). I put a halt on the age getting larger at 21 but, no one listened. I will be 27 years old on Thursday. I like to also think of it as a huge anniversary for my parents and grandparents, too. It marks 27 years that they have been parents and grandparents. We all started that journey together. *I will probably be repeating this on the BIG DAY!*

My Lukey and daddy are in Houston (wish I were there with KATE!) for work. A+ is having an NGS tech convention in New Orleans starting tomorrow so everybody in the family (mom, Justin, Keith, Mamaw, Papa, Gussie) are all gonna be there. That's all fine. I am the type of girl who refuses to be ignored and this weekend (or whenever possible) we. will. celebrate. With champagne. Who's in?

I forgot! This is not the first present I got for my birthday. My sweeties- Maria, Madison, McKenzie & Daniel gave me a nightshirt with shoes all over it. It says "If the shoe fits, buy it in every color" I will have to take a picture and post it. They gave it to me on Christmas Eve. Normally, I don't open Birthday presents on Christmas but, they begged. If you knew these adorable little babies, you would've given in, too.
