A Shoe A Day Makes Me Feel Loved
I ran some errands today. I went grocery shopping and went to my grandma's house. I had to stop and see a sick friend for a second and I needed to go to the post office but I didn't make it. When I got home and to the mailbox, I found a package from my friend, Crissy. I opened it excitedly and this is what I found:
It's a calender with shoes on each page. Everyday has a different shoe- from high heels to sandals, Lanvin to Monolo. I was so thrilled to see it. She had a black and red bow tied around it and she included a sweet card. I cannot tell you what this meant to me.
I have never met dear, beautiful Crissy but we IM a lot and I read her blog and she reads mine. She is a very talented, funny lady with two adorable little girls. She has started two new businesses recently- one at Etsy and a gourmet catering business called Gourmet Buffet. This blog- Made By Crissy Mathers shows some of her creations. Go visit her (and tell her I said hi!) and order something. I've already told her a few times but- Crissy, thank you so so much! Getting a gift that is so perfectly me is wonderful. I will think of you everyday when I see the new shoe of the day!

So This Is Christmas
I hope that everyone has had and will continue to have a very Merry Christmas and Holiday week. Mine has been good. I've eaten waaaaaaay too much, got some really great gifts, and seen some long-lost family members. Today, all of that continues... We went to my grandparents' new house on Christmas Eve evening (as usual) with my mom's brother, his wife and their four children, plus the six of us (mom, dad, little bro, Gus, Blue and me). The food was great. The house is great. The company was great. Then, the six of us went to mom and dad's to open our gifts. That was fun! I got a great purse! I LOVE it. It's brown with fringe on it. I like fringe, a lot. Blue makes fun of it and calls it an Indian purse. Oh Well. I also got some great pj's, coasters, a bracelet (from my grandma), a scale and an ipod! Blue got a ton of great stuff too. We are very blessed to have such a generous and loving family. Yesterday, for Christmas, we went to my mom and dad's. My dad's sister (who is my godmother and I call her Nanny) and her husband and my cousin and her family were there. My cousin, Jen, has 3 little boys and they are so cute. Christmas is so much funner with kids. Again, we had a great meal and spent good time together. Today, we will drive a little to go to Nanny's house. Her youngest son is coming in from out-of-state and I cannot wait to see him. He and I were very, very close growing up and I have not seen him in a long time. Nanny's oldest son, his wife and their three children will be there, too. They have an adorable, smart, funny little girl named Arlee,4. They also just had twins in July! I've never met them face to face. I've talked about them here on the blog though. I'm happy about that. I'm not happy that I have not slept well in days. Seriously, it's getting OLD. I am tired and I look really awful. I'm weaning off of another medication, it's not as bad as the K from last year, but it's not a picnic. I am guessing that is what is causing some of the problem. I'm having a lot of jitters, anxiety, which I've dealt with for a long time. I am also just dealing with some very personal things that are difficult. I beg you for your prayers, good thoughts and support. My love to you all... Labels: Blue, family, holiday, presents

Christmas Meme- Kinda
- I don't listen to Christmas music on my own. As in, I don't own any, I don't listen to it in the car, etc.
- I cry (at least tear up) every time I hear "Little Drummer Boy". It's sweet. And lil bro sang it in PreK when he was teeninie and so so so freaking cute I could eat his face.
- I finished all my Christmas cards! I just have a few that I need the addresses. (Kate! Sarah!)
- I hope we do a Christmas picture card next year. Blue isn't gonna do one with just us. But...
- I cannot wrap. No, really, I just cannot.
- Christmas is NOT a good name for your baby! Yes, I DID see/hear this.
- I'm wondering from all you parents- what's the big toy this year? You know- the "gotta-have-it-wait-in-long-lines-no-one-has-it toy"? Remember the Cabbage Patch Kids and Tickle Me Elmo ? I actually saw a CPK in Target the other day and wanted it. SO sweet!
- You know that because of the emotional stress- alcoholics relapse more at Christmas and there are typically more suicides around this time. If you are in over your head, for real, TALK to someone. 1-800-273-TALK. If you need to email me for ANY reason, please do so at shoeaddict 17 at gmail dot com. I CARE ABOUT YOU. All of you.
- I only have TWO more gifts to buy. One is for my BIL- I think he's just getting a gift card. The other is for my grandfather. I totally forgot to get his yesterday while I was out. What do you get the man who literally has EVERYTHING. He loves to read but he has a Kindle. There is NOTHING. Ugh!
- What do you really want this year?

The Gift of The Bath
When we were looking for houses, one thing that I HAD to have was a nice bathroom. I wanted a big tub with the jets and a nice separate shower. I got that and I am not disappointed. Here are some of my very favorite things that have to do with a good bath. Maybe you can find a good gift for someone. Full disclosure- I don't own one of these awesome Canyon Group robes but I want one badly. They are made of chenille and are so adorable. They are kinda expensive ($132) but they are so comfy and gorgeous! The robes have appeared on TV and in the movies. They come in sizes Small (6-8), Medium (10-12), Large (14) and X-Large (16). They also have Plus sized robes in some of the same designs. There are really cute ones, here are just a few:
Martinis
Glamour Girlcomes in lilac or pink (this is the one I MIGHT want)
Fifi
Blue Butterfly
I really am the QUEEN of the bath products. Really, really, really. If I sold all the stuff I have right now, I could pay my mortgage. I'm not even kidding. Philosophy has the greatest stuff ever in the bath. I also want this, you know, in case you decide to buy me a gift! If you are looking for something for yourself, your mom, sister, etc...
16oz-$16.00
24oz-$30.00
Foaming Bath and Shower Cream
This stuff is fabulous. It's really creamy (I use it to shave sometimes and I have the worst sensitive skin) and rich. The smell is so fabulous, too. I love it. It's mild and light and clean. I love it in the winter.
16oz- $16.00
24oz-$20.00
3-in-1 Ultra Rich
Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath
This is the most decadent stuff you can use in the bath. I love it to relax and soak- it's not good in the morning! It's the very best on a cold, winter day because of the great spicy smell. It does smell like Cinnamon Buns but the top notes are not sweet, they are more spicy and warm. I bet that you'll love it! I also have the lip balm and it's okay. It's a little Red Hots for me. Another company I LOVE in the tub is L'Occitane. I love them all the time, actually. We just got a little L'Occitane store in the mall and I am thinking of going to work there. The one drawback- there is only one person at a time working! I will get bored. So, back to the products, they are so fabulous! I think you should own at least one thing from this place. Sephora also sells them. And Philosophy.
$41.30
Limited Edition!
Lavender is something I cannot live without. I discovered my true love for it while in the middle of suffering from terrible migraines. Lavender is a natural calmer and L'Occitane has simply the best. If you love lavender scent and you have never smelled this one, you MUST! Also great, the candle. The reason L'Occitane's lavender is the best- lavender grows in Aix en Provence in France and that is where L'Occitane originates. My mom has been there.
Butterfly Lavender Joyful Mood Body Cream$32.00
Limited Edition
This is another thing that is on my wish list. I have this and I love it.
Almond Shower OilTravel Size
$8.00
I love this stuff. I pour it in the running water and it smells so fabulous. It's an oil so it is very super moisturizing and doesn't dry you out. I don't even use lotion on the days that I use this in the bath.
Other stuff I love from there is this (I want this!) and this. I took my MIL to the little shop when they were here and she loved it. She told me she wanted something from there for Christmas but I don't remember! AGH!!!
Do you need any gift ideas? Maybe I can help! Let me know.

Thirsty iPods
So, hi. It's 3:30 AM and I'm awake! I am not feeling well and I cannot sleep. Layla and I are curled up on my new La Z Boy chair, watching tv. I know I don't post a whole lost anymore. I get all aggravated when people don't post everyday and I don't anymore. I will think of things to post and then dismiss it as being boring. So, I might start posting more but more boring posts. I'm very thirsty. And I want a lot of peanut butter. I have no idea what that is all about. I am always very thirsty. I try really hard to drink water but I LOVE carbonation so I like Sprite Zero and Caffeine Free Diet Coke. I cannot drink any caffeine unless it's super super early. It makes me very jittery. My mom asked us for our Christmas "wish lists" yesterday. I want an ipod. No, I don't have one. Little Bro had one that he gave to us but Blue took it over. I think that I'm gonna get a Nano (thanks, Kelli!). I don't know what color though. How to choose? I LOVE red, obviously, but an orange one would be so cool. And pink!!! I don't know what else... Lucky Girl
My parents and grandparents are leaving tomorrow for a cruise. We never got to go to Bonefish (my favorite restaurant) to eat so tonight they came to give me birthday presents. This is what I got-
My grandparents gave me these books:

I love Tim!

I really liked her first book
Bergdorf Blondes so I expect this one should be good, too.

Whoa! Look at all those pretty shoes....

The picture of my teapot and teas. The thing on the right of the pot is the filter.

Here is my GORGEOUS new purse!! My parents gave me this! I love it.
L.O.V.E it.
It's a wonderful soft leather that smells fabulous in the perfect size. It's the grass color.
The inside is a red checked print. It's very roomy. Did I mention how much I love it?
Justin & Shannon bought me this set of lotions. It's really pretty and smells great! I'm very lucky.

Birthday Rewind
*Pictures to come* Yesterday was pretty uneventful during the day. Muffin broke his collarbone (awwwwww) so, Lindsey and I couldn't really go anywhere. That's ok. I love my Muffin ;) He broke it the other day, Tuesday maybe. He is in a sling (he calls it his band-aide) and has medicine. I will post a picture as soon as I get one.I went to my local grocery store (where everybody knows my name...) and bought some staples (3 12-pks of Coke products for TEN DOLLARS!) and saw a cute little boy buying a birthday cake. He said it was his birthday. I told him it was my birthday, too! We were all at the checkout and the cashiers (who are all in high school) and little boy all told me happy birthday and wanted to know why I wasn't buying cake. They were probably very disappointed in my hamburger meat, frozen veggies, orange juice, oatmeal... where is the big pretty cake? I told them all "My best friend told me not to buy my own cake." Luke came home (he's been in Houston since Monday) and cooked hamburgers. Lindsey came over and brought me GORGEOUS roses. They are a beautiful color (red and pinky) and I love them. She also brought me cupcakes and candles!!!!! We sang (they) to me and I made my wish and blew out the candles. Lindsey also gave me two cards that are PERFECT for the two of us. I got a beautiful card from my Nanny Georgia, Uncle Cliston and Donna. Thank you! I loved it. I also got one from Grandma in Georgia. (I have pictures of the flowers and the cards, the cupcakes and candles, etc) The three of us ate hamburgers, egg rolls (Lindsey brought them- yes, I'm a pig), and cupcakes. It was all really good. I'm so glad Lindsey came and did that for me. My mom, dad, bro, Mamaw, Papa, Keith, etc are all in New Orleans. I got tons of text messages and e-mails. I got a phone call from Maria, Madison, McKenzie & Daniel (& Susan). They sang Happy Birthday to me. Very sweet :) So cute. My mom called and talked to me. She also commented on my birthday post. LOVED IT! Lindsey and I watched Project Runway from Wednesday on DVR. She'd already seen it but, that's what best friends are for. Christian's boots cracked us up! The dress he and Chris created was WHOA! Also, Jillian and Victorya's THREE looks were FABULOUS!! We were blown away by the detail and creativity put into the avant-garde look of Jillian and Victorya. We also loved Sweet P's wearable grey dress. I do not think Kit should've gone home. So, that was my birthday. Tomorrow (Saturday) we (the FAM) are going out to dinner. I have sooooooooo many clothing and shoe options! I'm so excited. Plus, pressies from: Mom & Dad AND Mamaw & Papa! P.S. I have not gotten my tea pot, etc in yet but, I did get a RL Polo shirt in pink with my monogram in green (I have a pic)P.P.S. Thank you ALL very much for your birthday wishes via comments, e cards, texts, e mails, calls, etc... I appreciate the love and well wishes. You are all so sweet and good to me! I know that this will be a great year. P.P.P.S. I only didn't hear from one person but, it's OK because I know he was/is VERY VERY busy. P.P.P.P.S. My cough, headache and mojo (hee hee) all seem to be back! The first two with a vengeance. Oh, and to save us all from more P's and S's: I have to finish LOST. That's what I'll be doing tonight. Birthday Present, Part 1
This is my birthday present from Luke. I am not a coffee drinker. I hate it. I hate the smell of it. But tea. I love, love, love tea. I love hot tea and iced tea. I have an electric teapot given to me for my wedding (Sarah, I PROMISE you are getting a wedding present. PROMISE) but, then I went to this site Harney and Sons on the advice of Geggie because of this post. I fell in love! I love Chai tea and wanted to check out the tea that Geggie was talking about so, I browsed. I decided (quickly) that I needed (Muffin speak for something you reeeeeeeally want: example "I need some M&Ms, mama!") a teapot and accessories for loose teas. Here's what I got (it's my birthday present from Luke):It gets tricky here because I don't know if this is what I need or not.
These are two of the teas I bought. Chai (Indian Spice) and Hot Cinnamon Spice. I got one other but, I forgot.
Yes, I LOVE my birthday.(If you hate that- beware). I put a halt on the age getting larger at 21 but, no one listened. I will be 27 years old on Thursday. I like to also think of it as a huge anniversary for my parents and grandparents, too. It marks 27 years that they have been parents and grandparents. We all started that journey together. *I will probably be repeating this on the BIG DAY!* My Lukey and daddy are in Houston (wish I were there with KATE!) for work. A+ is having an NGS tech convention in New Orleans starting tomorrow so everybody in the family (mom, Justin, Keith, Mamaw, Papa, Gussie) are all gonna be there. That's all fine. I am the type of girl who refuses to be ignored and this weekend (or whenever possible) we. will. celebrate. With champagne. Who's in? I forgot! This is not the first present I got for my birthday. My sweeties- Maria, Madison, McKenzie & Daniel gave me a nightshirt with shoes all over it. It says "If the shoe fits, buy it in every color" I will have to take a picture and post it. They gave it to me on Christmas Eve. Normally, I don't open Birthday presents on Christmas but, they begged. If you knew these adorable little babies, you would've given in, too.
