Summer Maternity Dresses for Liza
Liza (who quit blogging) asked for my help in finding a summer maternity dress. She agreed to letting me post it here and get your opinions, too. It was fun for me! Liza needs a dress to wear for her brother's May wedding in Las Vegas. She told me that she wants to spend about $50, doesn't want anything too low cut or floral. With those things in mind, I went hunting. Some people do not believe in wearing black to a wedding. I tried to find other colors.

My Favorite Color
This is late because I'm sure that you are reading this at work. I presume that if you are at work, you are dressed for the day. I wanted to do this post earlier this week and kept forgetting. Oh, well, maybe if you go out later? Or maybe we can all do this every Friday this month? Anyway, February is National Heart Health and today, February 6, is National Wear Red Day. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women today. Wear red to show your support of those with the disease and to raise awareness. My mom's family has very high blood pressure. Blue's family has it too. Both of our families have mostly cancer-related deaths but this is very important, too. Do you know what your blood pressure is right now? Is it too high? My blood pressure is usually way too LOW. I have a bp machine to monitor it. I had to get it a long time ago when I was sick all the time. My cholesterol is pretty low, too. If you don't know what your numbers are, make an appointment with your doctor, right now! And check out Andie and Wordnerd's posts on the subject. 900th Post! Come On Out

A Shoe A Day Makes Me Feel Loved
I ran some errands today. I went grocery shopping and went to my grandma's house. I had to stop and see a sick friend for a second and I needed to go to the post office but I didn't make it. When I got home and to the mailbox, I found a package from my friend, Crissy. I opened it excitedly and this is what I found: 
It's a calender with shoes on each page. Everyday has a different shoe- from high heels to sandals, Lanvin to Monolo. I was so thrilled to see it. She had a black and red bow tied around it and she included a sweet card. I cannot tell you what this meant to me. 
I have never met dear, beautiful Crissy but we IM a lot and I read her blog and she reads mine. She is a very talented, funny lady with two adorable little girls. She has started two new businesses recently- one at Etsy and a gourmet catering business called Gourmet Buffet. This blog- Made By Crissy Mathers shows some of her creations. Bloggers Unite!
Have ya'll heard about Stephanie Nielson (NieNie) and her husband Christian? They were in a private plane crash in August. Christian has burns on over 30% of his body and Stephanie on over 80% of hers. The other passenger, flight instructor Doug Kinneard, died in the crash. Stephanie and Christian are the parents of four young children and have lots of wonderful family and friends. The New York Times wrote about how bloggers have come together to raise money for their medical bills and other expenses. This confirms what I already knew, you can meet some really great people while blogging. The fabulous and talented (and beautiful) jewelry designer, Wendy Brandes, is auctioning off one of her beautiful, fabulous, coveted (by ME!!) pieces. How To Heal A Broken Heart
- Watch Big Brother 10 and marvel that there are two people from LA!
- Read Adele Parks' Game Over (I stopped reading Mercy because I want it to be fresh in my mind for the book club discussion)
- Eat fatty foods (Blue Bell Rocky Road ice cream, Popeyes fried chicken and biscuits, chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies)
- Get two bouquets of flowers- one from mom&daddy, one from Lindsey & Muffin & Brandon. (I also got an AMAZING alligator key chain/bottle opener)
- Have supper cooked and brought to us by Lindsey (yummy chicken stew, peas, and sweet potatoes)
- Chat with K1 & K2 all day...
- Play with my Webkinz that G & K2 got me. LOVE IT!!
- Read Jen Lancaster's Such A Pretty Fat that Lys sent to me- THANKS! I am laughing out loud!
- Sleeping
- Watch movies
- Cry
- Curl up with my Blue and be loved
- Read your emails and comments of love and support! Thanks so much... I'm doing really well. We are just laying low and watching tv this weekend. I'm just really tired and kinda weak. I know, though, that GOD is good and He has a plan for us and it. is. GOOD. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, want this purse.... I love it! It's big and roomy and laid back and pretty. It's buttery leather like my green one but it's by Lucky Brand Jeans. It comes in tan and black and I can get it in goldenrod, too. IF I bought it, I'd go for the tan because I just like that color the best. I need a black bag but the tan one is better.

Thanks for playing, everyone. I'm going to be doing that again soon. Also, I'm going to be designing a bookmark with a logo for the book club. I know it's silly sounding but I love it! I need a real name though and I keep going 'round and 'round. I like Diary and Friends Book Club but here's the problem- nothing about shoes. That seems kinda wrong, right? Or no? And Shoeaddict's Book Club is not very inclusive. What about Shoeaddict and Friends Book Club? I was thinking of having the name around some type of picture, a shoe and book or something.
I need ya'll to tell me what you think the name should be. You can pick one I've given or make up your own. I don't know how to put up a voters thing like I've seen on other people's blogs (maybe Kelli can tell me how cause she is smart about things like that)(so are YOU).
I have to tell ya'll another little thing, too. God knows your heart. He really does. I've been such a grouchy pants and have been in such a mood lately. Today, I needed to go to the grocery store and I decided to go to a new one. It's not really new, but new to me. I've been going to Wal*Ma.rt and I'm sick of it. That's another post in itself though. So, I went today and loved it. It's locally owned and it's fabulous.
What does that have to do with God knowing my heart? Well, everyone there was so friendly! It warmed my heart (cheesy sounding, I know) and put me in such a good mood. I love, love, love to shop and this place made it so much better. It just helped me so much to have every single person that worked there smile at me and say something friendly when I made eye contact. There was someone around everywhere I turned, no searching necessary.
I am not a beer drinker but over the 4th weekend I drank this and loved it. No, LOVED. It's seasonal but I didn't know when they stopped selling it. I was in their (HUGE, clean) beer and wine section and asked a guy to help me. He spent forever with me chatting like we were old friends. He was so helpful (recommended this, have you had this, Abby?) and sweet and kinda cute which is besides the point, of course. AND my total was so much lower than usual.

A Weekend Update

Also, remember this? Well, I won!!! I'm thrilled. I'm probably more excited than I should be for chocolates and Starbucks. I don't drink coffee but I like the tea there a lot. Thanks Mel. I also won a cute floating candle and notepad from Kathryn a few weeks ago. I took a picture but I cannot find the camera right now. Thanks guys!!
My godchild, MAV (initials), is here with me for a few days. She is nine. We went shopping for clothes yesterday and OHMYGOODNESS! We almost didn't make it. Or one of us didn't make it but I cannot say for sure which one would've survived it. It was a lot easier when she was 5 to buy her clothes. Now, she wants THOSE shorts and a DRESS and a HOODIE (in the summer? in south LA?) and she takes forEVER to try things on. She gets something in her head (the ugly shorts, the dress she won't ever wear, ice cream, what have you) and won't. stop. talking. about it. Geesh! We were very successful in our mission though and bought quite a few bottoms and tops that are appropriate for her.

Let Us Pray
I'm a strong, strong believer in prayer. I believe that my faith and prayer got me through some of the worst times of my life. One of my favorite people in the world, my cousin Mary, is going through something and she needs your prayer. Her boyfriend, Tom, has cancer. It's melanoma stage IIIc. He is going through biochemothrapy which is a cocktail of 5 drugs. He just got out of the hospital but I'm not sure how he is doing. They live in California.Also, my blogging friend, Jill, and her sister (who has a blog that I read too) are going through something terrible. Their mom has cancer. Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma to be exact. She began her treatment a few days ago and yesterday was really bad. So, let's pray for their mom, too. Help!
I know my titles are very creative.
I got a new laptop because mine was broken and died. I now don't have lots of blog addresses. The sad thing is, I don't even remember who I forgot, you know? Does that make sense? I used to have tons of blogs in my favorites and now, I don't.
