Mean People Suck

People can be really shitty, for no good reason. You tell them, "Hey, had a great time with you the other night." They act like a big, huge, giant MEANIE.

Guess I'm just sensitive though. UGH, sick of hearing that, too. This is me. How about, you're an ASS! I'm not sensitive, you're an ass... I should get a t-shirt that says that.

That is all.

Had A Bad Day Again

I'm having a bad day. BAD. Well, actually, the past two days have been bad. I am tired and I have no energy. I want to be in bed. I don't want to clean or cook or go to the store or the DMV or any of the places I need to go. I don't have PMS. I am scared.

What if it's coming back? What if this is the beginning of the darkness coming back? What if I'm NOT better and that was just a little fluke of good? It's one of my biggest fears, that I'm truly a broken person. What if that is who I am? I guess everyone deserves a bad day or two though, right? Right? RIGHT? I don't know...

I just feel so fat and ugly and tired and lazy. Layla is barking her fool head off. The floors are dirty and I am not in the mood to mop. I want french fries. There is no way I'm gonna eat them though. My pants are getting too big for me and I'm not going backwards. When I buy new jeans, they will be a size smaller.

I think that we will take a walk soon. Maybe that will help. If I can just get out of my sock monkey slippers....

Bloggers Unite!

Have ya'll heard about Stephanie Nielson (NieNie) and her husband Christian? They were in a private plane crash in August. Christian has burns on over 30% of his body and Stephanie on over 80% of hers. The other passenger, flight instructor Doug Kinneard, died in the crash. Stephanie and Christian are the parents of four young children and have lots of wonderful family and friends.

The New York Times wrote about how bloggers have come together to raise money for their medical bills and other expenses. This confirms what I already knew, you can meet some really great people while blogging.

The fabulous and talented (and beautiful) jewelry designer, Wendy Brandes, is auctioning off one of her beautiful, fabulous, coveted (by ME!!) pieces. Go HERE for more on the auction and some great pictures of the gorgeous NieNie and Christian. Aaaaaand to bid on the Diana necklace.

Happy Birthday, Paw Paw Harry

Today is my Paw Paw Harry's birthday. He died the February before Luke and I got married. I miss him every single day. I loved him and admired him and am sad that he is not here. I know that he is better off but I am selfish. He was so cute!
Happy Birthday, Paw Paw.

God Speed, Randy Pausch

Randy Pausch, Professor and author (and YouTube sensation), died Friday morning at his home. He was 47. He inspired me SO much I cannot even be adequate with words. I first saw him on Oprah maybe a while ago, but didn't think much of it. I cried, yes, but it didn't sink in. The message. Then, while I was getting off of my Klonopin and going through that difficulty, I saw a special on Randy and his family.

Randy, his beliefs, thoughts and attitude reminded me of my Mama. He inspired me to push on, to be better, to do better. I fell in love with his sweet smile and the way he loved his wife and kids. After I saw the special, I had to show my mom. She ordered the book for all of us the next day! I know that he has touched so many people with his story and messages. If you have not seen the lecture or read the book, go now, you won't be sorry.

A Note From the Desk of Shoeaddict

Hey ya'll. I wanted to tell you that I will be taking it easy on the posting for a few days or a week or so. I don't know. We are going through something not too nice(not a divorce!) and I just need to heal and take care. I'm okay and so is Luke and we appreciate your love and support and prayers and thoughts. Thanks.

By the way, did ya'll watch Flipping Out last night? I can understand Jeff firing Chris because he broke a rule and all, but I mean, ,the language used- he was just screwing around at work. Who doesn't do that? I don't think that indicates the type of person he is or if he's turned his life around or not. It's not like Jeff saw Chris taking things or hurting the dogs or kissing Zoila! Poor Zoila, she was so upset.

So, I will see ya'll soon.

And She Has A Cute Nose

I was just re-reading my past post and I wanted to take it all back because I feel so guilty.

I wrote all that stuff that irritates me and not the great, wonderful things that I love about my MAV. I didn't tell all about how relieved I am to have her back after two years and how it's so great to hear how well she's doing. I didn't write about how she won first prize at her spelling bee and how she's so super proud of that. Or how she got perfect attendance even though she has more than one home. I didn't mention that she is bright and funny and adaptable and mature and sweet and honest. She is adorable and fun.

I wanted you to know the wonderful things, too.

Shocked! *Breaking News* UPDATED

Actor and father, Heath Ledger, was found dead at a downtown Manhattan apartment, police say. His death was possibly drug-related as pills were found all around him. Ledger was 28. The housekeeper found him unconscious at around 3:30 PM Eastern time and called authorities.

Heath Ledger has a 2-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose.

Updated- It's being reported by news sources that Heath's family is issuing statements saying he did not commit suicide. The pills found in his room were said to be sleeping pills. Also, I've learned that Heath had pneumonia at the time of his death.

Michelle Williams, former fiancee and mother of his daughter, is said to be "devastated" and on a plane to NY.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

More to come as the story develops...

Nothing But Sad ETA

Nickelodeon confirmed today, Tuesday, that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. Jamie Lynn, Britney Spears' little sister, stars in Nickelodeon's Zoey 101.

This is awful. I hate that these young women are getting pregnant while so many couples are struggling with infertility. It's hard for me to judge her, though. I was not a virgin on my wedding day...
EDITED TO ADD- She and her mother tell all in tomorrows edition of OK! Magazine. There's a six page spread! The father is a longtime boyfriend.

God Warrior's Daughter Dies

Do y'all remember this woman? She is Margurite Perrin, the lady who appeared on Fox's TV show Trading Spouces and infamously had a big rip-roaring hissy fit. She called herself a God-Warrior and was, of course, switched with non-believers and got all psycho about it. She is from Ponchatoula, LA. On Tuesday, her 25-year-old daughter, Ashley Perrin, died in a car accident. The Hammond Daily Star reports that Ashley was driving alone in a mini-van when she hid a guard rail and died instantly. No alcohol or drugs are suspected but, police do not have a reason for the accident yet. Ashley is the mother of a young daughter who also appeared on the show. My prayers go out to this family.

Ain't No Sunshine When He's Gone

Let me tell you something, this whole house is different when he leaves. I don't breathe right until he walks back into my arms. I'm not saying that I don't have a life without him. I am not saying that I need him to survive and make decisions and that without him I am nothing.

I am saying that I don't like to be in the space that he is not. I don't want to make decisions that don't include him the outcome. I refuse to think of a life without him permanently.

Luke leaves from New Orleans tomorrow morning at 5:45 to ultimately get to Canada (somewhere near Lake Huron). He will be there until Wednesday the 22nd. I know, I know, you think i should be used to him being gone. It's very hard to explain. I'm used to him being gone in that I'm OK being by myself, eating alone, hanging out alone, etc. But, I will never be used to him leaving. I hate that part. And missing him. It's an ache and like a part of me is gone.

We don't have kids and I have always been a very nurturing wife. I love to baby him. I like to fuss over him when he's sick and I worry about all kinds of little things that moms would worry about if their children are out-of-town. Right or wrong, it's what I do. I worry about if he gets sick, is he eating right 'cause I know he'll only eat crap if I don't tell him not to do that, is he drinking enough water, is he drinking too much beer, is he sleeping OK because a little secret is he has a little trouble sleeping without me and so it takes him a few days... He's my baby!

I guess you have to understand that because we have no kids and we've been together since we were both 18 years old, we have an extreme connection. We have private jokes. Meaningful looks that say monologues. Hugs and kisses that convey what a Hallmark never could. I don't know if we have a normal marriage. I don't know if we have what everybody has. I know what I have and I know that it means everything.

I know for sure that I need you to pray for my Blue as he goes on this journey. He is still not completely comfortable with flying and all of this traveling is for his new position-he was promoted to operations manager of the gulf coast region locations in LA.

I also know that there ain't no sunshine when he's gone

Blah Day, Cont.

I know that the posts appear backwards. This one will appear first when it should be 2nd since it's "cont" but, I don't feel like fixing it. Sorry. Read the post before this one. Really, it's not that necessary. Anyway, thought I'd include these incredibly ADORABLE pics of Cooper. And Cooper and Kate. He is such a ham. She is such a Diva! Remember those oatmeal cups?

Stormy Weather

Luke and I are going through a bit of a rough patch. It's not that big of a deal.
I also am having migraines like crazy and a bit of trouble with one of my endocrine diseases (adrenal insufficiency). I can't see my endocrine specialist until September.
We are fine. I just don't feel like posting.
Please pray for me and for us.
Thank you.
Love to all of you.

Life

I heard that a girl I went to school with has stage 4 brain cancer. The doctors sent her home to die. I cannot even imagine it. It's just so tragic. She's 27-years old. 27!

I hear that she has a wonderful attitude, like there is nothing wrong. She talks about her future plans with a big smile on her face. And maybe she does have one. I'm the type that believes. The mind is so powerful. And prayer is too. If this entire community is praying for her, who knows? It's all in God's hands.

When something like this happens to someone your own age, someone you know, it's like a big slap in the face. It's so true that you never think it can happen to you or anyone you know but, it can and it does. I'm not at all close to this girl now. I wasn't that close to her in school but, it has shaken me all the same.

She's a young woman who lives where I live. A wife and daughter and sister and friend. And now? I don't know what now. No one knows the answer to that. Or even why her. So, it could be me. Or anyone.

The only thing I can do to help is buy jambalaya! Her family or her friends are putting on a benefit, selling jambalaya plates for $5. The money will be used to help pay for medical expenses. People do this kind of thing all the time around here. If you live in my area and are interested in helping, let me know. If you have a business, they will deliver the food at lunchtime.

If you don't live here, which most of you don't, please just pray. Her name is Amanda. She needs that prayer just as much as that $5.

Awwww! That's Sad

Oprah's dog, Gracie, died!! That is so sad. She's sooooo pretty.
She got three golden retrievers at the same time and named them: Luke, Layla and Gracie.
Weird because my husband is Luke and our dog is Layla.
We had a dog, Gracie, in GA but, she got run over.
Poor O
