No Fair Weather Fans Here

The 2008 LSU Tigers just took the field in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. It's being played as usual in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. LSU is playing GA Tech.
I'm emotional. I love the Tigers. I love football. Blue thinks I'm just absolutely insane- "Why the HELL are you CRYIN?" I don't know. I want them to play well and I hate that it's over.
This season has not been a great one for Tiger fans or players. Our record was 7-5 and those 5 losses were rough. I have cursed and thrown things and yelled. Oh, yes, I have yelled. Through it all, though, I love the Tigers and I always will, champions or Peach Chick-Fil-A Bowl-ers.
UPDATED- TOUCHDOWN Tigers! WOOOO HOOOO! Man, what a grrrreat song the fight song is.
UPDATED- Tigers win! Tigers win! What a great game. The Tigers stomped 'em. I cried, of course. I will always and forever be a Tiger girl and I am so proud. I'm thrilled that we got to share so many of the home games with some of my very favorite people. Thanks Justin and the Pirates.
And to you, you blogger and non blogger friends alike, thank you for a great year. Thank you for your kind words, your support, your love. Happy New Year...

Makeover, Makeover!
Corey was so excited when I told him "I want funky hair!" He told me, "Well, c'mon girl, let's go." I showed him a few pictures in a magazine and we talked about my hair texture and we put some stuff together and BAM! He did an awesome job. Now I have straight, short hair. And I lost one pound this week!! (It may have been in my hair) Unfortunately for you, I still can't find my USB chord so you can't see the pictures I took. I will try to borrow my dad's sometime soon. Or find ours. Tomorrow is the LSU vs Bama game and we will be out tailgating. GO TIGERS!! Labels: hair, LSU, new look

So Much To Say
It's been so long! I am reading my regular blogs and everyone is just so busy and has so much going on and I feel so far behind. Lots of things are going on over here, too. I don't really remember where I left off (and I forgot to look) so, I'll just start the rambling. This weekend is the big LSU vs UGA football game. It's a big deal here in my house because Blue is from Georgia, if you'll recall. And we live in Louisiana. It's a Civil War. His family (mom, dad and maybe brother)(and a friend) are coming in on Friday for the game and to see our new home. We will be tailgating alllllllllll day long on Saturday. My parents are cooking and my brother and his friends have THE best spot on campus. I'll be wearing the purple and gold and screaming with every ounce of my being. This is for all the marbles! GO TIGERS! I joined calerieking.com and I LOVE it. It helps me so so much! I'm doing my treadmill work as much as possible and that is helpful. The treadmill that I use is very old, though. None of the stuff on it works except for the actual treadmill part. I guess I don't need any of the fancy stuff but it would be nice to know how far I've gone and to have an incline. I'll be asking for a new one for Christmas. My goal (one of them because I have a LOT) is to lose some weight (FAT) before I worry about doing other exercises besides cardio. I powerwalk and then jog and that seems to be working for now. I'm trying to add more time to the days and more days a week that I do it. If you are interested in my weight loss and progress and are doing the same or have done it, let me know please. I have a weight loss blog, too but I've decided to make it private. Just let me know if you want to read. Seriously, who knows where I can find out a good housecleaning schedule? I know that one of you superwives has one or knows one. I read one before so I know they exist. I'm talking about, Laundry and bathroom on MON, floor and blah, blah, blah, on TUES... And if you say Flylady then tell me where because I don't wanna know about cleaning my sink and dressing everyday. I do that. Everyday. If I don't, I don't wanna. Also, on the house cleaning front, who has a Jacuzzi tub? Do you clean the jets a lot? Every week? Every day? Every year? I mean with chemicals or whatever... Thanks! I know there are other things I gotta tell ya'll but I need to move it! I gotta go get milk and then get my (big) butt on the treadmill. NOVEMBER 3 is housewives day! I like daisies and gardenias and lilies and I don't like carnations. I wear a size 8.5 shoe. ;) Labels: exercise, family, football, housework, life, LSU, weight loss

Pirates Of Death Valley
Justin's friends were the spot of the week at TheTigerBlog. Go here to check it out. Luke and I will be there Saturday and whenever we can. With the move, it'll be hard to get there, but we'll go as much as possible. My parents and Luke's (and some other UGA fan friends) will be there for the UGA/LSU game. LSU tailgating is like nothing you've ever been to before. This spot is the best there is, too. GEAUX TIGERS! Labels: family, fun, Justin, LSU

Gustav Updates

Pictures from 2theadvocate and National Hurricane Center We are preparing for strong winds and heavy rains. We are not near enough to the Gulf to have to worry about storm surges or whatever. I just read that he has been updated to a Category 5 in the Gulf. He probably won't hit as a Cat 5 but even a 3 is major. If he hits Houma or Morgan City, we (my town) are going to get hit hard. We won't know for sure until Monday. Right now that landing is just soooo wide- from Biloxi to Beaumont. I'm doing loads and loads of laundry, gathering up important papers and cooking some big meals. We will probably go to my parents house if it gets too bad. I don't want to go to MaMaw's with Layla. She had a bath and didn't love it so much. My head is killing me and has been since Wednesday but I keep trying to get it to just go away. It's kinda ebbed and flowed.
Thanks so much to everyone who said they would pray for us. Please do that! Pray for my family and friends and for my state. I love it here and I hate the thought of more damage and tragedy. Thank you for checking on me. I will try to update you as much as possible.
Also, GEAUX TIGERS! 41-13

OH. MY. GOD!
I love the TIGERS! I'm screaming as much as I can (I've been having a migraine with nausea- ugh) and so is Layla.
The scene- Tigers down three, bases loaded and my man, Blake Dean, hits a 3-RBI DOUBLE!! That put the score at 6-5 and the Tigers win!
It was beeeeeeeeeeeeautiful!
Now I have to lay back down before I pass out.

Thanks For the Memories
Geaux Tigers!
Hold the rope*
Lindsey and I spent lots of time at Alex Box Stadium when we were, ahem, younger. We cheered our hearts out for Skip Bertman's team- Jason Williams, Chad Cooley, Trey McClure, Warren Morris and of course, MIKE KOERNER. Tonight the Tigers played their last game in the stadium and it's sad for me. I'll always remember that time of my life fondly. We still have each other and we still have LSU baseball even if Mike K is gone.
The boys are moving into a new stadium, to be named Alex Box, also. Alex Box is the name of an LSU football and baseball player who died in WWII. He died a hero and we love a hero here. Read the story HERE.

Kiddie Fun
I have had a lot of fun these past couple of days. McKenzie came to stay the night with us Thursday night after we went to PF Changs. We loved it, by the way. It was so good. We ate a variety of delicious things and passed them all around. I really liked the sweet and sour chicken and the Cantonese shrimp. Deeelicious! Friday, Lindsey asked us to go swimming with her and Cooper and the twins. Her aunt (who lives right down the road from me) has a beautiful in-ground pool with stairs and a diving board. It was so much fun! The kids were great and happy and it made me so incredibly besides myself to be there. I love that kinda stuff. I know that sounds crazy, but I do. I'm so happy to be around happy kids. Lindsey and I took McKenzie and Cooper to see Kung Fu Panda on Friday night. I really loved the movie. The kids did, too. Cooper just kinda gets mesmerized and doesn't move (he did have to pee once) and Kenzie laughs at everything. She gets that from me (and mom). Lindsey says that she laughs like mom and me. Jack Black is awesome and hilarious! It might get a bit violent for some of you and/or your kids so, beware of that. Our kids were fine with the whole movie. Last night, Luke and I watched LSU baseball. I'm about to watch more. I hope they win today!! Geaux Tigers. I went to sleep early because I was not feeling well (my period) and I slept late. I've been reading, watching baseball and eating fruit. Luke is taking a nap. Oh, I lost 4 pounds!! I'm thrilled. It's just a lazy, summer Sunday... Can We Just Play Now?
LSU plays Tennessee today for the SEC Championship in the Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. It's a big game, the boys need to be focused on the football game. Instead, we have "sources" making false announcements about their head coach, Les Miles. ESPN announced that Miles was leaving LSU to coach Michigan like it was a DONE DEAL. Well, Miles didn't like that and went on air to say:"There was misinformation on ESPN and I think it's imperative I straighten it out. I am the head coach at LSU, will be the head coach at LSU, I have no interest in talking to anybody else. I got [sic] a championship game to play, and I'm excited about the opportunity of my damn strong football team to play in it. And it's really all I'd like to say. It was unfortunate that I had to address my team with this information this morning. But that being done [sic], I think we'll be ready to play. There will be no questions from me. I represent me in this issue. Please ask me after. (He starts getting really PISSED here). I'm busy. Thank you very much. Have a great day."With that, he turns and leaves. You can tell he's visibly angry, annoyed.
Good! I hope my boys are all fired up. Lets go Tigers!!!

Shoeaddict's Buzz
I don't feel so great. I'm tired and my head hurts. I've also been very nauseated every single night for the past week. SIGH. I took my meds and hope to be asleep early- sans the nightmares.

Here are a few things I've found that I'd like to add to my wardrobe very soon. What do you think?

LSU won last night against Auburn! Yay!! LSU is now #3 in all polls.

I spent yesterday and last night at Lindsey's house with these two. This is the last picture I have of them. They are very busy, loud, funny and adorable.

Another Dream Wish item from a jewelry designer that is sooooo me! I want this ring for a right hand ring. You know just a cahz kinda thing... Isn't it so purty?

More clothes... I meant to put the first top with the others at the top. The black tank and red dress I'd love for the holidays. Again, What do you think?

GWEN STEFANI and KINGSTON in Prague. Loves the blue sunglasses, the bangs, and his hat. She's still sportin him in that tacky gold stroller, though. Look how cute his blanket is with his name on it. I LOVE stuff with initials and names.

JENNIFER LOPEZ has yet to confirm her pregnancy and in fact, denies it. That, of course, is her prerogative, right? Judging by these pictures from her concert this weekend, she should stop denying it- even if she isn't going to confirm. I'm a girl with a belly but that is a BABY, no?

America's sweetheart, REESE WITHERSPOON, at the "Rendition" (
KATE, Oh great English teacher, I need punctuation help! What do I do with movie titles? I have questions about a few things) premiere in Rome, Italy
This is backward. I wanted JENNIFER CONNELY to be first but... This is a close up of the shoes. What do you think now? They certainly do NOT match that ugly dress (except that they are both ugly).

And finally, BRITNEY got her kids back and her lips plumped. That is something I would do fo' sho- get my lips plumped. I wouldn't want "trout pout" but I have no lips! What do you think of MISS SPEARS' lips?

That's all for today, lovelies.
Will be back tomorrow.
XXXOOO

Welcome to Death Valley
It's GAMEDAY!
LSU plays in Kentucky today- they just took the field. LSU is the #1 team in the nation and Kentucky is #17. 2007 is the year of the TIGER!!! So, I got some great pictures from Lindsey's bro-in-law, Greg, from last weeks big game at DEATH VALLEY. It's an experience like no other to be at TIGER STADIUM.
Here is the team taking the field. It's kinda hard to see them. You can see the band and cheerleaders, though.

This is the field after the win! Craziness!!

Inside the locker room

This is outside the stadium before the game. Look at the people!!

Poor Brandon, Lindsey's husband, was tired at the end of the game. This is at about 2:30 am.

Lindsey, Brandon, Heather (Lindsey's sister)

Isn't she such a cutie? She told me I couldn't put this up but I told her I was because how cute is that? She looks great!

Instant Classic

Jacob Hester, the 22 year-old LSU Tiger Running Back, is the "team leader", says Coach Les Miles after LSU's 28-24 VICTORY over Florida tonight. The game tonight was
insane! I'd have given anything to be there but, not in the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up nose-bleed seats- hello, steep!! There were 92,910 fans at Death Valley and they were wild during the entire time. So was I.
The Tigers did not lead until the final minutes of the game and then that was it. It was a sweet victory. The sportscasters are calling it everything from an "Instant Classic" to "One for the ages." Jacob Hester is my hero!!! He played his heart out. I was in tears as he lay on on the field after his winning touchdown. I kept thinking of his wife, Katie. I would be a mess if it were Luke. I was extremely proud of Coach Miles, too. He made some edgy, risky calls that paid off. I didn't agree with one of them but he trusted his boys and he is owning his wins.
The icing on the cake- USC lost. They LOST!!! They were beaten at home (AT HOME) by Stanford. I screamed so hard when I saw that. I've been waiting YEARS for that. Literally, I've been waiting years for LSU to be here, number 1, USC is number 2 and LOST!! Who knows where they will be tomorrow when the polls come out.
So, even though I almost had a heart attack about 25-35 times during the game tonight- I LOVE LSU, JACOB HESTER, and LES MILES!! I'm so proud.

More TV?
Are y'all getting tired of me and TV? Well, there are new shows premiering this week and shows that returned this weekend that I just
have to discuss so, shall we?
What do y'all watch on Friday?I will, on occasion, sometimes, when I am in the mood, watch ::puts head down::
Ghost Whisperer. The one with Jennifer Love Hewitt and her eye lashes and boobs, ya know? But, y'all know I LOVE my Stacy and Clinton on Friday nights.
College Football, hellooooSaturday is an all day college football day. It's a bonding time for Luke and I. We have fun, we watch as many games as possible (the number is astounding) and GRILL something. Men and fire- it's sorta cute. He makes great hamburgers. Go Tigers!!
Sunday Sunday **
Spoilers**OK, who loves
Desperate Housewives? Who watched Sunday? The reviews are great, so far. Most people are pretty happy with the season premiere, that includes me. I have to admit that the show had been lacking for me in the past and I'd miss a show or two and not really care. Let me give you my opinion on Sundays episode-
Susan- I knew she was pregnant the minute she went to see the doc. Some people are saying that the baby is going to end up being Ian's but, how can that be? How long has she been with Mike? That will really make me mad because it's not really feasible. Lots of people don't like Susan and I understand that but, I really don't dislike her. Yes, she is kinda neurotic and insecure. I also think she is a good friend, loving mom and wife.
Edie- OK, it was most definitely screwy and psycho but, how funny was Edie's "suicide" attempt? Whoops, crazy neighbor is gonna really kill me. Then, she REALLY thought the whole neighborhood was throwing her a party? That was crazy. What a master manipulator.
Lynette- I love her. She's so real. Felicity Huffman is an amazing actress. I think Lynette's storyline is a great one for women to see. She's a mom, a wife, a friend, a daughter and a woman- with cancer. I thought the moment she pulled off her wig to ward off PTA-monster-mom and revealed herself to everyone, was so beautiful, poignant, sad.
Gaby- What a firecracker! Did anyone else notice in the credits at the beginning of the show that it said, EVA LONGORIA PARKER? That was weird to me because she's always in the press and never had "Parker" attached to her name. Anyway, I want Gaby and Carlos to be together. I cannot stand Victor and I can't believe that she'd allow him to get away with what he said about marrying her. She had me cracking up when she kept telling Carlos, "Best Wishes", in the parking lot. *A little bit of trivia for you, when two people get married or announce their engagement, you give the groom congratulations and you offer the bride best wishes*
Bree- Marcia Cross looks great! Her hair is so pretty. Loved the "sitting on the porch playing the banjo" remark to Andrew. I liked that she broke down and admitted that she wanted this baby because she wanted a second chance at motherhood. Were you surprised that she didn't reveal her secret when the girls made their pact? I wasn't. She doesn't want to be judged anymore. Right? Even if no one is judging her, it's the way she perceives it.
Newbies- What do we think about the new family? What's their secret?
I also DVR'ed
Cold Case, which is a really good show. I watched
Gossip Girl at 7:00, before
DH. I really do like that show. There is just so much to watch and the DVR doesn't allow me to record enough and watch while recording. Something's gotta give!! I watched
Shark at 9:00. It's another show that I really love. James Woods is a cad IRL but, he's a fabulous actor and this character is a great one.
Manic MondayMy Monday was not manic- just terrible. But, I watched
Dancing with the Stars for the first time. I enjoyed it. I still get so angry at the judges and confused by the way they judge. Here is what I thought about some of the dancers:
Marie O- OMG! I thought she was gonna have her way with her poor partner. He looks scared of her during practice. She needs to tone down the flirt.
Albert- I cried during his practice. That was so sweet. He and Anna have a great chemistry and he's a good dancer.
Mark- I thought he was good.
Mel B- She was wonderful! She looks fantastic and deserved a better score.
Jennie- Ummmmm, what a Kelly Taylor attitude! Hello, just don't waste anyone's time if you're gonna be mean and mocking to your partner. Then, of course you could tell she wanted to burst into tears when she was speaking to the judges but, what was that my-dentures-are-coming-out-of-my-mouth face she was making?
Helio- Julianne is my favorite. She is an awesome choreographer. They were FANTASTIC.
Cameron- I used to watch
All My Children and was in love with him. He's good and he's sexy. I also really like Edyta, his partner.
Cheetah- She is good but, of course she is. She is a dancer! This is not fair.
Jane- I didn't see her. I was in the other room talking to Luke.
Floyd- Ditto
Wayne- I just don't think he's THAT bad.
Jennie should go. I know she's not, though.
TONIGHT**KELLI** Singing Bee comes on at 7:00 on NBC, followed by The Biggest Loser, then Law & Order: SVU. On ABC-
Cavemen (Luke is so excited) &
Carpoolers premier at 7:00 and 7:30, followed by the results show for
DWTS at 8:00.
Boston Legal comes on at 9:00.
FOX has
Bones at 7:00 and
House at 8:00.
NCIS comes on at 7:00,
The Unit at 8:00 and
Cane (YAY!!!) at 9:00 on CBS.
The CW has
Beauty and the Geek and
The Reaper back to back starting at 7:00 and BRAVO has the fifth and final season opener of
Queer Eye at 8:00. I love
Queer Eye!! So, for me, there will be DVR'ing. There will be watching when it comes on again. I'll tell you all about it ASAP.
Now, your turn.
