So Sad
Bernie Mac died on Saturday, August 9, at a Chicago hospital at the age of 50. He was admitted for pneumonia but also had sarcoidosis, a lung disease, that contributed.
Bernie Mac, born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough, has been a performer for 30 years. He began as a stand-up comedian, was one of the founding members of the Kings of Comedy, and acted in television and movies. He was married for 30 years, had a daughter and granddaughter.

Old News & New
Miss Jamie Lynn Spears and fiance Casey Aldridge welcomed a daughter Thursday morning. Around 9:30 am at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS, MADDIE BRIANN was born. She weighed 7lbs 11oz and reportedly has a head full of hair. Jamie Lynn was discharged from the hospital Friday overnight. 
I love this picture of her. I think she is pretty here. What a pretty color on her!
One of my favorite comedians died Sunday. George Carlin died of heart failure at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica. He was 71.

RIP YSL
Yves Saint Laurent died today in Paris. He was 71. He had been ill for some time and retired from haute couture in 2002.

Shocked! *Breaking News* UPDATED
Actor and father, Heath Ledger, was found dead at a downtown Manhattan apartment, police say. His death was possibly drug-related as pills were found all around him. Ledger was 28. The housekeeper found him unconscious at around 3:30 PM Eastern time and called authorities.
Heath Ledger has a 2-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose.
Updated- It's being reported by news sources that Heath's family is issuing statements saying he did not commit suicide. The pills found in his room were said to be sleeping pills. Also, I've learned that Heath had pneumonia at the time of his death.
Michelle Williams, former fiancee and mother of his daughter, is said to be "devastated" and on a plane to NY.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
