Super Bowl Sunday

Everyone knows that I am not a fan of Barack Obama. I also think that it gets a little worse at times because of the "messiah" thing. I have but ONE Lord, Messiah, Savior and He is Jesus Christ.

However, I am charmed by the sweet-faced, darling Obama daughters. I do fear for them and their safety. I think that they are really precious and I think that they should be protected. I pray for them a lot. I do pray for President Obama, too. I do not agree with almost everything that comes out of his mouth but he is a human being and a father.

I think that we should be able to have a pre-game Super Bowl show without an interview with him. However, I am watching it, the interview. He says that Sasha and Malia are making friends and joining clubs at school. I talked about their first day of school and how that must have been really hard. The president says that his daughters have friends over today. That is just amazing to me. Can you imagine watching the Super Bowl at the White House? As pals of the first daughters? Or as the first daughters?

I am just sitting down for the first time today. I tried to sleep late because I didn't sleep well last night. Blue and I went to my grandparents' house for a little while this afternoon. They have some outdoor furniture that I want so we went to measure it. We ended up staying there for a little while, just visiting. I am always blessed to spend time with them.

When we got home, I went to wash my hair and get re-dressed. I was just wearing something "blah" to their house. After I got all gussied up, I came into the kitchen to begin my party prep. I cleaned the house yesterday but I needed to cook. Blue is grilling cheeseburgers. I also cooked our favorite dip, some chocolate chip and pecan cookies and some oatmeal raisin cookies. I also have some green onion dip.

Blue invited a friend from work to come over. We also invited my little brother and SIL but she cannot come because of homework. He is not feeling well but might make an appearance. We also invited a few of our friends but I'm not sure who is coming. We are prepared though.

I have no real feelings for either team. Blue says that he is going for the Steelers. I don't know why but I'll ask him. I usually root for the opposite team from him if we watch a game where I really don't care about either team. I am going to follow that tradition today because I like the Arizona Cardinals story.

Are you having or attending a Super Bowl party? What will you be eating, making or bringing? Who are you and your household rooting for today?

20 & 21 of 21

I didn't do so good on my goal of posting every morning with my Days of Prayer. I did do the praying though. I think that I will do this again in a few weeks.

Sunday morning I slept in because I was so exhausted from last week. I felt bad that I didn't make it to church. I plan to go this Sunday though. I praise God for leading me to a place that I enjoy going. I don't know yet if it's 100% for me but so far, I like it.

I also prayed to Praise God for my wonderful family and my sweet husband. We went out to eat at Bonefish Grill (I got the sea bass) and had a great time. Blue doesn't like to go out to eat but he came anyway for me.

I also am so thankful that mom and dad had a nice, romantic time on the cruise. I am glad they are home safe. I am also glad that my aunt and uncle and grandparents are home safe.

Today I praise God for my friend that I met at church last week. She emailed me today and we are gonna meet for lunch. R and her husband tried for 3 years to have a baby and she is 7 months pregnant with twins!! Praise God for fertility, babies, friends. R is praying and asking others to pray that the babies stay gestating for at least a few more weeks.

I thought a lot about being neighborly today too. Just how simple little things can be so life changing- a smile, a kind word, a hug. I try to smile at people in the grocery store, wave at my neighbors and say hello- even when I'm not in the mood.

Thank you so so much to all of you who prayed with me. Thank you for those of you who commented or emailed that you enjoyed the Days of Prayer. Sometimes those comments are worth more than gold to me. xo

13, 14 & 15 of 21

I only have a few minutes before the littles have to get up and get ready for school. The older girlies are already gone.

Saturday I prayed for strength and guidance while taking care of the children. I prayed for my ear to feel better.

Sunday we went to church at The Chapel and I loved it. In my "married life" Sunday school we are discussing the book of John. We talked about believing IN Jesus and believing Him. In service, the pastor talked about being a witness for Jesus.

Monday I prayed for patience.

This morning I'd like to pray for a local family who just lost their son yesterday. I'm not sure of the details right now. I'm also really, really upset about some layoffs at Blue's company. He is fine (for now? I guess?) but others are not and it's sad and scary. It's a little disgusting to have a huge, glitzy, expensive inauguration today.

So This Is Christmas

I hope that everyone has had and will continue to have a very Merry Christmas and Holiday week. Mine has been good. I've eaten waaaaaaay too much, got some really great gifts, and seen some long-lost family members. Today, all of that continues...

We went to my grandparents' new house on Christmas Eve evening (as usual) with my mom's brother, his wife and their four children, plus the six of us (mom, dad, little bro, Gus, Blue and me). The food was great. The house is great. The company was great. Then, the six of us went to mom and dad's to open our gifts. That was fun!

I got a great purse! I LOVE it. It's brown with fringe on it. I like fringe, a lot. Blue makes fun of it and calls it an Indian purse. Oh Well. I also got some great pj's, coasters, a bracelet (from my grandma), a scale and an ipod! Blue got a ton of great stuff too. We are very blessed to have such a generous and loving family.

Yesterday, for Christmas, we went to my mom and dad's. My dad's sister (who is my godmother and I call her Nanny) and her husband and my cousin and her family were there. My cousin, Jen, has 3 little boys and they are so cute. Christmas is so much funner with kids. Again, we had a great meal and spent good time together.

Today, we will drive a little to go to Nanny's house. Her youngest son is coming in from out-of-state and I cannot wait to see him. He and I were very, very close growing up and I have not seen him in a long time. Nanny's oldest son, his wife and their three children will be there, too. They have an adorable, smart, funny little girl named Arlee,4. They also just had twins in July! I've never met them face to face. I've talked about them here on the blog though. I'm happy about that.

I'm not happy that I have not slept well in days. Seriously, it's getting OLD. I am tired and I look really awful. I'm weaning off of another medication, it's not as bad as the K from last year, but it's not a picnic. I am guessing that is what is causing some of the problem. I'm having a lot of jitters, anxiety, which I've dealt with for a long time. I am also just dealing with some very personal things that are difficult. I beg you for your prayers, good thoughts and support.

My love to you all...
