The Georgia Kiddies have a Halloween Edition, too. I'm too lazy to link to it right now but maybe later. Here are just a few of the Christmas pictures. Cal and Saylor

Christmas Day Part II

I am having a little bit of a time uploading the pictures! The camera is a Pentax (Andie asked) and I know nothing. Also, the guide book, camera, laptop and I are never in the same place... Here are more pictures from Christmas Day. This is before we played LCR (we did that at night). Are the pictures too big? Maybe that's why it takes blogger forever to upload them. Daddy in the kitchen (he looks like a pregnant mother!)(sorry daddy) Mom at the sink

A Christmas Story- So Far

It's 1:15 on Christmas Day and let me tell you what I've done today- SLEPT. I was so tired. Luke woke me up (early) to give me my present from him. It's a right-hand ring, a 14K gold diamond filigree ring. It kinda looks like leaves and vines, I'll get a picture ASAP. After that, I went back to sleep. I woke up again to feed Layla, pee and went back to sleep. I have a small headache and I'm hungry now.

Today, we are going to mom's to just lay around and do nothing. Justin and Shannon are with her mom, some family will stop by throughout the day, Isabelle, Olivier and the baby are there... should be no fuss. Tonight, we'll play LCR with Mrs J and her family (Holly!).

I got a ton of presents, including a digital camera. Now, I can be a real blogger and take pictures of everything I do and see. I also got a red coat, black boots, perfume, pajamas, slippers, 2 pairs of pants, an outfit with matching shoes, a food processor, an LSU sweatshirt, earrings, bathstuff, lip gloss... I'm so so blessed.

Ok, Luke's ready to leave.

(Updated) I'm so tired, my head hurts, my house is a mess, my kitchen is pretty empty... It's the big Christmas hangover.

Rundown-
Monday- we went to my grandparent's house and had a great time! I wore a red and black swirly pattern tunic, black pants and wedge shoes. I didn't have my camera yet but, pictures were taken. The kids were fun! The food was soooo good. We had: fried turkey, honey-baked ham, green bean casserole, corn pone, rice dressing, cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, fruit salad, chocolate covered pretzels, my oreo truffles... So good!

Yesterday, we did go to mom's house. Isabelle, Olivier and bebe Zoe were still there. Zoe is so cute and I have some great pictures of her. She sleeps all spread out, arms splayed out, it's adorable. She is so good. I got to hold her for a while and Luke held her hands and played with her and it was so so so sweet. I LOVE seeing him with kids. I've never seen him with a newborn though and this was sweeter than sweet. Anyway, we ate a lunch of stuffed chicken breast, roast, potatoes, rolls and fruit salad. It was nontraditional but very good. We talked about some traditional French foods and what they eat for Christmas (foi gras- goose liver).

We went to Keith and Susan's house to see what Santa brought the kiddies. They were all so sweet and snuggly. I forgot my camera, though! Daniel was playing Nintendo DS and was so so serious!

We came back to the 'rents' house and had Mrs J and her whole family. Justin and Shannon came back and their were 16 of us, including Zoe. 13 of us played LCR, the dice game and Shannon won the two times that I was sitting there. Mom made a huge pot of soup- turkey, andouille, ourzo, veggies. By 9:30-10:00, I was soooo tired and so was Lukey who went back to work today.

I will play with my camera today and see if I can learn how to adjust it. I'll try to upload the pictures I've taken already.

Christmas Weekend Plans

Christmas weekend is what I'm calling it because just looking forward to Christmas is ridiculous! Christmas is just one day for goodness sakes and we have plans of Christmas joy on a few days other than just Christmas Day. I'm sure everyone else does, too. This way, all the build-up is not for the one day but, the weekend. Especially if you have family or friends coming in town or you are going out.

We are not going to Georgia. We have only spent one married Christmas in Georgia. I have a hard time with it and it's not important enough to Blue that we go so, we don't. I'm sure that when we have a baby things (may) will change but, until then... His parents are planning to come here in February. He just saw them on his way back from Florida, too. They sent us our presents and we got them last night. I got some Sterling Silver jewelry and a fleece from Old Navy. Luke got a deep fryer and a UGA cooler.

So, the plans. Tonight we are going to mom and dad's for supper. They have not been home for awhile so, it's just a get together. It'll just be "us"- I think. (Us= mom, dad, Luke, Justin, Gus, and me). Bowl games are on, DVRs are full, maybe presents to open (?) Lots to talk about. Attire- jeans, cahz

Saturday- Luke is going to a party, Lin is coming to help me wrap presents.

Sunday- Christmas with the "H" side of the family. This is my daddy's side. We will go to my Nanny's house (she is my dad's sister). LOTS of people. Nanny has 3 children: Robby (married to Cathleen; daughter Arlee, 3, newly pregnant), Jennifer (married to Clint; sons Hunter 6, Mason 3, pregnant with baby boy #3), & Cody (engaged to Carrie). Everyone will be there except Cody & Carrie. We only give gifts to the children. Or try to, at least. My Nanny is resistant. Attire- I will wear maybe dark denim and a tunic/flowy blouse, red patent flats or black suede wedges. It depends on the weather. It's hot today! Luke will wear khaki pants and a polo style pullover.

Monday- Christmas Eve evening has been with the "M" side of the family since before I was born. It's always at my grandparents' house. In attendance- "Us", mamaw, papa, Keith, Susan, Maria, Madison, McKenzie and Daniel. We only buy gifts for the children (fun!) Our family adopts other families to buy presents, clothes, food, etc for and it's so much fun! We eat turkey, brisket (sometimes), ham, sweet potato crunch, rice dressing, cornbread dressing, and who knows what else? Attire- Dressier- I'll wear grey trousers (cuffed) and a pretty red top. Luke will wear slacks and a button-down shirt.

Tuesday- Christmas Day at mom and dad's. This is new. We usually do Christmas Day with the "H" family, one year at mom and dad's, the next year at Nanny's. This year, we are doing that early so, Christmas Day at the manse! No clue what we'll do- watch football, eat, open our presents to each other... That night, we'll play LCR with our family friends. Attire- jeans or jean skirt?

I'm so excited. I have no idea if I'm going to make anything or not. Lindsey makes Oreo balls and since Luke and I love Oreos maybe I'll make those.

I'm sure I'll still be posting because I like it and things don't seem like they'll be too crazy. What are your plans for Christmas weekend?

Merry Christmas from Shoeaddict!

Soooo, Yeah, Well, Ummm....

I finished reading The Other Mother last night (I will mail it to you, Kel.) It's very much the story of the struggles women have, with each other and themselves. The which one is right- working moms or stay-at-home moms? Who is right and who is wrong? Who has it easier? Who has it harder? It's a very interesting book, with a few too many metaphors and similes for my taste but, overall a decent read. There are parts that I found completely unnecessary and ridiculous, too. If you read it or have read it, I think you'll know what I'm talking about.

Luke and I are not getting along, fighting, not fighting... He swears everything is fine. That's how he is. I am the type of person who is NOT afraid of confrontation, who thinks a fight is healthy in every relationship. Luke is the type to be mad about something for a year and never tell me. He is the type to suppress his emotions about everything- his family, his stress, whatever and deal with it in ways that are not very mature or healthy. I'm also, on the flip side, a dissociater. When I was going through a very awful time in my life, this is how I coped with it. It's not something I want to discuss with other people, my marriage and the problems in it. I love him and he loves me. I know that we will be OK. We've together for a long time and marriage is HARD.

My parents are coming home from New Mexico today/tonight. I'm very excited, of course! Daddy's bringing home an elk, yay!! Christmas is going to me different this year. Mom says that she wants me to open some of my presents early because she doesn't want our family time to be "The Kristen Show." I have no idea why because it usually is... Kidding!! Kinda. I'm sure the boy child has not gotten any less than me, maybe just my number of presents is greater. Don't be fooled into thinking he's neglected or anything, living in the manse, in his own wing, with his Christmas presents. None of this is said spitefully. I love him. I think he's great and could've bought him a ton of gifts myself.

My Christmas cards received count is at 17. I've received 6 photo cards (the M family- with Maria, etc, Muffin, Eden & Saylor, Cal, Andie & her husband, and Kel's family) and I'm still expecting a few more. I have heard that some people have received mine, too. I'm pleased. I slacked off a lot on my own this year and hope to do better next year.

I'll post later about what my plans are for Christmas. Who goes where, when, what happens on which days, etc... Guess what- I have all my presents bought but, not one is wrapped. *Sigh*

P.S. I'm watching Bringing Home Baby and the woman named her baby girl JOY INCREASING. Her older daughter's name is HOPE. I like HOPE. I'd love to know her middle name.

ETA(4:32 pm)- I'm about to watch Stardust. It's the other DVD I got from Netflix. I mailed back season 1 of Entourage- it came on two DVDs. Now, I'll get season 2 (comes on 3 disks). I'll put Stardust in tomorrows mail. After all the Entourages, is the movie, La Vie en Rose. It's the life story of Edith Piaf. I may have to move it up in the queue.

Christmas Cards, Shoeaddict Style

I really was going to finish addressing the Christmas cards and have all of them ready to send out tomorrow. I tried. I did. I did not succeed. I need more stamps. This is how Christmas cards get done, Shoeaddict style:

*I buy a few different types of cards.
*I write a personal message to each person/family in every card.
*I usually send out over 100 but, I've scaled the list back by at least half.
*I've finished 40 and I have 55 to do.
*I do get address labels that have our name on them.
*This year, they are clear with red ink. The first letter of our last name is in a box. Both of our names are on the labels, not Mr & Mrs Luke Shoeaddict.
*I don't write Mr & Mrs His First Name The Last Name (Ex: Mr & Mrs Christopher Noth-he is on TV right now.) I write either "The Last Names" or just "Last Name" (Ex: "The Noths" or "Noth") FYI, It's not The Noth's with an apostrophe. An apostrophe shows ownership- The Noths' Christmas card is in the mail. See, the card belongs to the Noths. The letter "s" added to the word (name) just makes it plural. So, when you sign your CCs, you say, "Merry Christmas! Love, The Murrays." I just saw Bill Murray on TV.
*I've noticed that out of all the CCs that we've received (10) most people address it to Mr & Mrs Luke
* Yay! I got a very pretty card from Andie, a blog friend. I loved it. It was the 2nd picture card I got.
* We've gotten a picture one from Luke's cousin Marnie, too. It's beautiful! It has her and her husband and their two beautiful daughters, Eden and Saylor. Love pretty Christmas dresses.
*We don't do pictures. I'll send pictures when there is a baby Shoe. I think the card will only have a picture of her the baby.
*I saw Muffin's picture and he is CUUUUUUUTE. I had no worries about that though.
*That's all.

Do you address to Mr & Mrs? (BTW, I don't mind (anymore) being addressed that way) How many do you send? Do you send a picture?
