The Diet

I have been doing poorly and today that changes. In an effort to "begin again", I've decided to start posting again on the diet blog. I have not done that in awhile so I just wanted those of you who read it to know.

It's a private blog so if you want to read it, let me know. I have to send you an invitation.

Big. Fat. Gross.

This past week with the kids has also been super bad on my diet. To be 100% truthful though, I have not been doing all that great for a month or so. I have not been eating badly all this time (like junk food or whatever) but I have not eaten the right stuff and enough of it. I have not stuck to my calorieking.com food journal and I've been skipping meals (mostly breakfast).

Being here with the kids has mad things so much worse though. I've mainly eaten Special K cereal in the morning but there was that one morning that D wanted blueberry muffins and I had one of those. I've skipped a few lunches and then eaten a lot at suppertime. I cooked most nights- spaghetti and meatballs, chili, hamburgers, roast and gravy, tacos, stuff like that. BUT, we did have pizza last night and there has been King Cake. I didn't eat but a small sliver of that. Oh, and I've had ice cream, too. Oh, it's so gross to write out.

We are going to be going out for my birthday, too. Mom and dad get home tonight and so I guess we'll be going tomorrow or one night this week. I think I'm going to pick Bonefish Grill . I'll probably get this fish and the house salad. That salad is so fantastic.

I was actually thinking of doing the Master Cleanse . I know that you will probably say, "Don't do it! You'll get so hungry," or something like that. Thing is, I'm sure that I'm fatter than you. And you. One of the main things I'm worrying about is not having the energy to work out. I NEED to get back to sweating it out and exercise. If you have some kind of cleanse or special diet that I can do to jump start myself- let me know!

If I decide to do the MC, I'll let you know. I'll probably blog about it. Also, I'm going to start posting again on my diet blog. I'll also be posting A LOT on my tv blog soon. I have so many shows on my DVR.

Shaping Up and Blowing Away

This is gonna be just a random post of my thoughts and feelings. I was reading over some entries and I don't think I have written enough posts just from my heart, for myself. I want to have a "journal" of sorts for this time in my life. This time when we are buying our house, Justin is getting married and I am beginning my WHOLE NEW SELF.

It may be boring for some of you but this is my life and I cannot just write entertaining things. Now that I have written all of this explaining my writing... (what a dweeb!)

-We are waiting (waiting, waiting) for the appraisal on the house. The mortgage lady that I am working with, Robbi, says that the house was appraised on Wednesday but we've gotten nothing back yet. I am working on my patience this year, along with everything else and this is trying it. I want it done. This is basically the last step before the final closing. Once the appraisal comes in, we can get a firm closing date and move from there. I'm nervous about the house not appraising for the purchase price.

-I have picked out living room furniture (sofa, entertainment center, coffee table, side table, two chairs) and bedroom furniture (bed, armoire, nightstands). I still need to choose a dining table and bar stools. Then, I have to order them. I don't want to order the furniture until the appraisal comes in and blah, blah, blah... I'm IN LOVE with the living room furniture that I chose. The two chairs will have to be special ordered and will take 6-8 weeks (they are being covered with the fabric that I chose) so I want to get.on.that.

-Gustav is scaring me. I don't want it to tear down my parents' camp. They owned a condo in Pass Christian, MS and it was wiped out during Katrina. It is a very creepy feeling for the weather to do that. Mother Nature can be a bitch. During Katrina, my mom, dad, grandparents and uncle were in France. Justin, Luke and I stayed at the 'rents while it all went down. I remember going to the store and buying squeeze cheese, Snack Pack pudding and beer. Priorities. There was a giant old tree in my mom's back yard that was completely uprooted. We watched the earth swell and it was, to this day, one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed. Scary and amazing.

I don't want to be without power for days on end and lose hundreds of dollars of groceries. I don't want to be that hot! It's HOT here. I don't know about where you are but it is HOT here. Our little house never lost power for Katrina, though. We had a bunch of limbs in the yard and that was it. I watched all the coverage of it on tv, had some "refugees" and cried and cried and cried. That reminds me that I need to call and check on my NOLA people. Last time, I couldn't reach them. I didn't know they were safe until a full day after the storm was over when they pulled into my driveway. They had to swim thier way out of the house that they had stayed in during the storm. There are so many awful stories like that.

-I'm going to start working out and seriously changing my eating habits. I started the work outs with Shannon today and I did GREAT! 30 minutes plus of cardio (treadmill and bicycle thing) and I made it. I feel so good about it. I plan to do it at least 3 days a week. I've already started to try and change my diet but fell off the wagon a couple of times. I'm very motivated to do better. I think that most people (not you) don't believe that I can do it and that is a great motivator. It is not the only one, of course, but it's one.

I want to be working out when I get pregnant. We will begin TTC again in January and I want to have lost some weight by then. I don't know how much. What is reasonable? 30 pounds? More? Less? I don't know. I'll think about that. I want to lose a total of A LOT but I believe in smaller goals to help me. I am going to do this. Watch.

-I'm going through lots of personal changes. This entire year has been filled with change for me. I got off of the meds that were bringing me down and I feel better than I have in a loooooong time. I am active and comfortable with who I am and happy. I am so happy. The only thing I am unhappy with is my weight and I am doing something about that. Oh, I'm unhappy about where I live and we are changing that. I am also unhappy that I don't have a child but we are changing that. I'm not really unhappy about that right now because I know it's happening.

I feel like I have changed a lot. I have grown personally. I will always be me at the core but I have grown up and gotten better. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about coming home and family dynamics. She was frustrated by her family dynamics and I get that, A LOT. I LOVE my family more than anything but I don't always act the way I want to with them. I believe that people have a tendency to revert backwards when they are with their families. I am not the same center-of-attention drama loving negative person that I was when I was young. Some people bring that out in me and I don't need that in my life. That doesn't mean that I'm not still dramatic or loud or down sometimes.

I'm just trying to be better. Live better, have healthy relationships, be healthy, be the best me that I can be.

Flip Flops Make Me Feel Better

Remember how I told ya'll about the shoes on sale at J. Crew ? Well, I bought two pairs. (What?) The pair at the left is one of the ones I bought and I love them. Lo-ha-ha-ve them! They are comfy and cute. I have not worn the other pair yet.

We found a house that we love a lot. It is so sweet. It's Acadian-style instead of the newer style which is so us. It's not giant or anything because we don't have giant money, of course. It's also not in a subdivision but there are people around still. There are fruit trees and bushes, a yard, a porch. I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm watching stand up comedy right now and this guy is cracking me up. I watched a tiny little bit of my girl, Kathy Griffin tonight (I love her) and saw that she got a chicken as a gift or something and then it pooped on her shoe. I laughed so hard!! Luke thought it was crazy. He wanted to know if I'd think it was funny if he gave me a chicken for Christmas. No, I would not. Well, kinda. Lindsey and I love Kathy Griffin. Lindsey also loves Luke and thinks he's hilarious. Most of the time, he is not.

I've been thinking of my Bug so much lately. I want, want, want, want the Bug. I'm so ready for Bug to come and be with Mommy and Daddy. We are ready, too. I found some extremely expensive nursery furniture. I'm sure if I searched, I could possibly find a more affordable cradle. Here is what I love. It's ridiculous for a cradle when they don't stay in the cradle for very long. I just like looking at that site because they have pretty stuff. This is more like it.

The healthy eating is going well, I guess. I am trying. Luke told me today that he thinks he is going to start working out which is great. You know what, though. He'll run a few miles and cut out a few things and be back to looking great in no time. That will PISS. ME. OFF. He'll look at me like, "Hey, what's the problem?" He is quiting smoking and it's going really well. He's down to three cigarettes a day. I'm proud of him.

Reeeealllly hoping my rings are at the camp!

The Big Diet

I promise that pictures of the vacation are coming. I am going grocery shopping today. I am beginning my diet this week. I am so scared. I'm not afraid that I won't be able to do it per se, but that I won't know how. Does that make any sense? I'm not very knowledgeable about what I'm supposed to eat for every meal. I need food that fills me up or I'll end up aggravated and then just splurging. I've joined WeIgHt WatChErS online and I'm probably going to go to the meetings and things like that.

I'm very excited about loosing weight. I'm way too heavy and it's embarrassing and it hinders me. I want to travel and go places, do things, see things. My brother, Justin, proposed to Shannon (AKA Gus) on our trip and I REFUSE to be uncomfortable and heavy for the wedding. I have a year- I think. That is what I understood from them. I'm the Matron of Honor, too. I can't look like I'm about to eat the rest of the bridal party (or like I ate one before I got to the wedding).

Do you "diet"? I don't want to be on some strict DIET. I'm against things that restrict entire food groups because I don't think that is healthy. I believe in eating real foods that God gave us. I am going to try to eat smaller portions, more fruits and veggies, lean proteins, drink more water and exercise. NO MORE FRENCH FRIES!

Also, do you take a vitamin or daily supplements of any kind? Do you know people who do? What do you take? I'm going to do some research on THESE. If you have any info on them, let me know! I don't know what else I should take besides Folic Acid. Thoughts?
