Shoe's Star Shadow
Let me tell y'all- I am the eye shadow QUEEN. I love, love, love it! I'm really into experimenting with colors and techniques. I get compliments on my eye makeup all the time. It's so much fun for me to do and as I said, I love it. My very favorite eye shadow in all the world (and I have LOTS) is
STILA. I have used drugstore brands, department store brands and specialty store brands... nothing is as good as my Stila!
Drugstore brands don't have the pigment that is needed for a good eye shadow. I used to buy them just to try out colors but, it's a waste of money for me. Then, I found my lovely, gorgeous Stila and fell in love.
It all happened on QVC! I ordered some kind of
"kit" that featured two eye shadow pots in Diamond Lil (a shimmery platinum) and Kitten (a shimmery nude- the perfect nude). I was hooked. These colors are so great. They are silky, blendable (which is KEY), pigment is perfect and just love!
Sooooo, I just got some shiny new shadows (not really shiny) that are so incredible I cannot stop playing with them. They are so very gorgeous and the first one has a concept that is genius!
Stila's
Smokey Eye Palette comes with the three colors you need for the base shade, lid shade and contour shade. The last color is for eye liner. It comes in The Bronzes (which I got *shown below), The Emeralds, The Greys. The genius part- it tells you how to create the perfect, easy smoky eye with the push of a button! See the compact below? You push the button and a peppy little voice gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do it! Fabulous.
The other palette I bought that just tickles me is the Fall Fantasy- A Tale of Enchantment Palette in
Moss. These are beautiful eye colors that can be applied wet or dry (wet is more dramatic) and a cheek color. They come in a slender velvet case wrapped in a chord with an agate. It's so very pretty, I just hate to keep it in my cosmetics case!
I believe in two very important rules when it comes to makeup- 1) You must use a good facial cleanser and moisturizer because makeup is not pretty on ugly skin and 2) the right brushes are essential! I bought this double-sided brush from Stila that is perfect for blending shadow and applying shadow as liner with ease. It's
brush #15.
I hope you get some ideas and maybe go out and buy something pretty. Let me know! *I'm not getting paid to write this- I wish.

Shoeaddict Asks...
What do you do for Halloween?
Do you dress up?
What are you/your kids dressing as this year?
Do you decorate? Hand out candy?
We are handing out candy at my parents house. This is the first year in YEARS we've "done" Halloween. My parents live in a neighborhood now. I'm not dressing up. The last time I did was for the Anne Rice Ball about 4-5 years ago.

The Buzz
Yeah, I shortened the name, now it's just "The Buzz." I am too lazy today to do what I wanted- either separate the fashion photos or put them in a post of their own, so they're all mixed in with the gossip. Maybe tomorrow I'll decide what to do. What do you think? Should the fashion "Goodie or Baddies" have their own posts?
T.R. Knight and Katherine
Heigl out for a movie last night in Hollywood. Did y'all know she was raised
Mormon and says she is considering raising her family that way, too?
Angelina Jolie on her new movie set (the costumes are gorgeous). There is a rumor coming from Italy that she is pregnant. Is it true? I guess we will have to wait and see. Angelina and Brad Pitt are the parents of 1 biological daughter, Shiloh
Nouvel (1) and three adopted children, Maddox
Chivan (6),
Pax Thien (3), and Zahara Marley (2).
Oh
LAWD! All kinds of no-good is going on at Oprah's school in Africa. One matron was accused of "
fondling" a student, grabbing another student by the throat and throwing her against the wall and cursing and screaming at others. The allegations came up after one student ran away from school because the abuse was so bad. Oprah held an emergency meeting Sunday at the school and apologized. The principal and the matron in question were put on leave. Oprah also handed out her personal phone numbers, e-mail and mailing addresses. She has also hired her own private investigator to look into the matter along with the South African police and the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit who are on the case.
FASHION
GOODIE or BADDIE? Christina
Ricci. New 'do and all.
I love the dress, what's with the shoes? I consider myself to be pretty great in this category (fashion) but, is it just me or do those shoes not match?
Britney Spears and gang went out to celebrate last night. At midnight, her new album went on sale. Who is buying?
The top three photographs are of Cate
Blanchett,
supposedly photographs that have stirred rumors that she is pregnant with her third child with husband, Andrew Upton (oldest son is
Dashiell John, 6 and Roman Robert, 3). I don't know if she is or isn't. She claims to be taking time off so, maybe so but, I feel bad for these actresses because they cannot have a little bloat without a
pregnancy rumor.
FASHION
GOODIE or BADDIE? Cindy Crawford. I love it. I say
GOODIE!
Uh-Oh! Miss Thing (AKA Jennifer Lopez) may be losing her label! Hers, Epic Records, says (a source) that she doesn't bring in money but instead
costs a fortune. The source
claims, "
She costs too much money and doesn't sell enough. Her last album cover alone cost $60,000 in hair and makeup, lighting, photographers, retouching, etc. The video budget was in the neighborhood of $300,000." Also, the source goes on to talk about the costs of a
JLO appearance such as the one she made on
Good Morning America. "Epic had to eat the cost for that entire performance. From her makeup- which typically costs in the neighborhood of $8,000 a day- to the backup dancers, to the rigging, lighting and sound. The woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage." Hey, don't give her any ideas!! Here's my thoughts- WHAT???? $8,000 a day for makeup? Even if you have the most expensive EVERYTHING it doesn't add up to that- trust me. If you're paying a makeup artist that you are getting screwed. I should
sooooo become a makeup artist if that's what they are making.
FASHION
GOODIE or BADDIE? Kelly
Ripa and Mark
Consuelos. Love it! They look great! GOODIES!
Pete
Wentz was at Voodoo Fest this weekend in New Orleans and he broke his ankle. Here is a picture of it. The ONLY reason I'm showing this is because it happened at Voodoo Fest.
Still more rumors about Christina having twins. What do y'all think? I just doubt it. I also DO NOT like the dress.
Sailor suits are for babies and very small children. Love the shoes, though!
Victoria "Posh"
Beckham has been in London with the Spice Girls. Upon her arrival to L.A., she was surprised by her husband with this- a new Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet. Price range? $200,000. He also
supposedly spent an additional $200,000
customizing it. O-KAY! How nice...
Finally, look! It's Isabella. Isn't she pretty?
This is Matt Damon's little girl, Isabella. I have big brown eyes and tiny lips like that, though.
I know, I know... I need help.
I'll get right on that.

France- Personal 1
Some of you may know about my family's connection to France and this
french family. Click the link if you don't. Here are some of the more personal pictures from the trip.
My LeLe and baby Melvil at their home in Paris
What a smile!
Clockwise from the top: Mr Claude (LeLe's dad), my Mamaw Emma, my mom (Sheila), LeLe & her husband Manu.
That's Mrs. Elian, LeLe's mom, standing, and my dad in the corner.
Manu and Melvil. Manu is a movie producer.
Sweet bebe
PaPa took a picture for me of LeLe's shoes! They are in shoe boxes with the picture on the front. I always wanted to do that but, (A) I'm not that organized and (B) I don't have the room. Mom told me that LeLe has about 50 pairs of shoes. I don't know how many I have but, I've been counting
in my head and it's not less than 50!
a pair of LeLe's boots
a few pairs of LeLe's boots...
The happy little family. So cute
Mom, always laughing! What's wrong with Mamaw???
Mrs. Elian with her newest grandson... She has an older daughter, Magali, that has a daughter who is about 8 or 9 and twin sons who are 4.
Mr. Claude is a goofball which is why he and PaPa are besties.
More to come...

I'm So Lovin...
I got this from sweet Megan at
SortaCrunchy. She is a sweetheart! She has some links to others who've done this, too.
This Month...
The Book I Am Really Into (or one I want to get into!): Ahhh, books! I've been so yuck in the book department lately. I just started to pick it up, though- accepting the fact that the Stephenie Meyer Vampire books are not for me. I just finished Sandra Brown's
Ricochet and it was fantastic! I'm going to read
Jacquelyn Mitchard's Still Summer next. Who knows what will be after that!
TV Show Worth Watching: I love TV as any regular reader of the Diary knows. I watch a lot of TV and even started another blog just to talk about it (
Shoeaddict Says)! The NEW shows that I love the most are:
Cane, Pushing Daisies, & Dirty Sexy Money. Old favorites are:
House, Two and a Half Men, Law & Order (all of them) &
Grey's. I'm a huge fan of reality TV, too so I'm loving that
The Amazing Race is coming back soon (Sunday!)
Movie I’ve Seen (In or Out of a theater): Like Miss Megan, I cannot even tell you when the last time I stepped (my adorable) foot in a theatre to see a movie on the big screen but, I have a list of things I want to see. Luke HATES the movie theatre- people, prices, blah, blah, blah. We've been maybe 3 times together in 8 years. Yes, you read that right. I'm interested in Halle Berry's new
movie. Oh, and this
one and this
one. On DVD, I just watched
this and I loved
this. I just bought
Marie Antoinette because
Naomi said I'd love it.
The Candle I'm Loving: I love, love, love
Votivo's Red Current. It's my number one favorite. I use
this a lot when I have headaches. I also like the Henri Bendel Candles at Bath and Body Works and Sarah C. recommended the
Fig, so I want that.
Blog I Am Always Visiting: That's not a fair question! I visit everybody's blog who has visited mine (at least once). I know it's not a blog but, I'm always at People.com! I'm also always at celebrity gossip blogs.
What I'm Most Looking Forward To Next Month: I have lots of great things coming up in November! Next weekend is our annual "A" family reunion. It's a big Cajun thing. We rent out a huge place that's like a dormitory on about 9 acres of land. This family is the brother and sisters of my Mamaw (mom's side)- and their kids and their kids. My great-grandfather, Papa Doomey(who died when I was 2- I'm the oldest of his great-grandkids and the only one who he knew), and great-grandmother, Mary (who died when my mom was 7), had 4 children: My Mamaw, my Aunt Georgia, my Uncle Nelson and my Aunt Shirley. My Aunt Shirley is only 3 years older than my mom and they grew up like sisters. My Mamaw has 2 kids and 6 grandkids plus an "in-law" (me included and Luke the "in-law"). Only my mom, dad, brother and myself are going in her "clan" (and her and Papa). My Aunt Georgia is married to Uncle Cliston and they have 4 kids and 5 grandkids. Donna is their daughter. Aunt Georgia, Unc and Donna are going the whole weekend. Their oldest daughter, Missy, and her husband and daughter will come for the day as will my cousin Mark and his 4 sons. Their youngest daughter, Nancy, who is 2 years older than me, lives in England with her husband. Uncle Nelson, his wife Patti and their son Jean Pierre are coming for the weekend. Uncle Nelson was married before to my Aunt Pat who is the mother of my 4 cousins- Cherina, Ashley, Mary and Dori. Ashley and Dori live in Portland and Mary lives in Costa Mesa, CA. She and I are very close. I think she's going to come for Christmas. Finally is Aunt Shirley. She and her husband have 3 children: Chad, Brandi and Amanda. Chad and his wife, Jennifer have Dylan and Lauren (who is in LOVE with Luke). Brandi and her husband, Blaine, have Hunter and Macy. Then, Amanda, who is almost exactly 1 year older than me, has Austin, Addie and baby
Aidan. They are all going. It's a blast! Thanksgiving is also in November and I love that holiday!
So, I just told you my entire family tree (not even close) and I'm sure you're bored to death! I had to write it all down for Luke ;) Who else wants to do this? Let me know if you do it, 'K.

Home
My family is home. I've been at my parents' house since 1:00 pm yesterday. It's been awesome! Since they've moved to this new house, I have not had a chance to spend the night and last night was the night. It was heaven. The room, bed, bedding, etc is all so nice.
We ordered pasta from
DeAngelo's and went through the
DVR, watching two weeks worth of TV. We visited, talked about their French
experiences and I got my presents!! I got this
gorgeous perfume and, of course, my
L'Occitane. I use lavender All. The. Time. It's very soothing and relaxing. It's also great for headaches.
This year, mama brought me lavender essential oil and
this and
this.
I have fabulous parents and grandparents and brother. It's been fantastic being around them- the noise, the laughter, the banter, the food, the love. I know that because of these things, I'm a lucky, lucky girl.

6 Things You May Already Know
Katiebug tagged me for this. I'm supposed to give 6 habits/facts about me. I'm not really sure what I
have not told y'all!! Ask away if there is something you wanna know. If this is a repeat of things you already know, sorry.
- I am a huge people person. I love people and am very fascinated by them and their lives and choices. That is why I love reality TV (some) and reading blogs and biographies.
- When I go to a restaurant, I can't order something ordinary. I want the greatest thing. Why order something I "can get anywhere"? I just enjoy food.
- I get book anxiety. I must have a book to read and one waiting or I'm all panicked!
- I feel guilty about everything. Guilt is there all the time.
- I do not take my narcotic pain meds as much as I probably should because I love them and addiction runs rampant in my family.
- I love to give presents! Especially to kids- I'm a spoiler.
I'm supposed to tag 6 more people- Valley Girl, Geggie, Dana, Patty, Sarah C. and Amy.

Stephen III
Today little Stephen III is 2 days old. I fall more and more in love with him with every single picture! I've known Hollie since I was 12 or 13 years old. She was 14 or 15. Lindsey was a year younger than me- bitch! Now we are all married and Lindsey is the mother of my heart, Muffin, and Hollie is a new mommy. Heather, the oldest sister, is the mommy of twin 7-year
olds, Grace and Emma, and a 2-year-old who will be 3 on November 27
th. I grew up with them, they were/are my sisters. It's very strange to just wake up and be grown up. That's how it feels sometimes.
I am so overwhelmed with emotion when babies are born. Even babies I don't know get to me! Of course, babies I know really just send me over the edge. I have been through quite a few pregnancies with family members and friends over the years. It's an amazing thing and I love the
experiences. I love going through the milestones- ultrasounds, growing bellies and babies, finding out the sex/wondering about the sex, discussing the names, buying clothes and gear, etc... I love the "she's going into labor" and waiting in the waiting room, then meeting that gorgeous, precious gift. It never gets old. It is always miraculous and I always feel God.
So, let me finish up with the "mushy" (like Lindsey calls it) and show you pictures of JOY!
Heather and Emma with Stephen after he was born.
Mommy and baby
My Muffin went to visit his cousin today! I love him so so much ;)
Stephen III with his daddy, Stephen Gregory, Jr (Greg)
Shhhh....Stephen sleeping
Muffin kissing '
thephen Nanny Lindsey holding the baby- she loves this face! It's a Hollie face.
I love him. What can I get him????? I need a fab idea.
