What's Cookin'? ETA- 8:34pm
Luke and I are both not feeling well. We are both "sniffle-ly" (my word), sneezy, achy, itchy, etc... It doesn't help that, as I've said before, the weather is crazy. Last night, we were hot and needed the air and today we need the heat. It's terrible!
Anyway, Luke would like Chili. I'm looking for a recipe. I make it, have made it, I'm just looking for something different. I'm kinda like my mom, I've looked at a few different ones and modified them, added them together. We like our chili with beans, Frito's and cheese. I'm using elk meat, too. My dad goes elk hunting in New Mexico every year and elk is a lean meat. It's very flavorful and it's FREE!
I'll use canned beans because I'm not taking HOURS to cook it. Onions, hot rotel, chili powder, cumin, oregano,.... I don't know? Maybe I need to pick a recipe. So, what's your chili recipe? Lindsey doesn't eat chili because she says (this is funny, frustrating and SO her), without chili powder and beans, chili is just like spaghetti sauce without the noodles and why do people want to eat sauce?
So, let me have it. Quickly... before I go to the store.
EDITED TO ADD- So, I made the chili with ground elk meat, a packet of Wick Fowler's chili kit (has everything all the recipes call for- chili powder, cumin, salt, flour, etc...) beans, tomato sauce and water. We ate it with Frito's and cheese. Frito pie is awesome! I made a pot- not a large pot- ate a bowl and then went back about an hour later to put the leftovers away. Luke ate the whole thing! So funny.
